I'm excited as shite! But I li e football so that doesn't say much. Also why I get so upset when beilama fricks up and why I sometimes question. Why we have him.

Me too but the moment that OLine looks like a piece of swiss cheese then I'm gonna lose it. Not looking forward to breaking shite.

What? Wisconsin scored 10 points in the 2nd half vs. Oregon.

O Line play killed us in those games. We couldn't run the ball when we needed to.

Ya, those goal line plays against A&M were fun

You would think the coaches would eventually go ,"ok, we can't run the ball the way we want to, how can we manufacture 3 or 4 yards to score some points." Instead we just keep trying smash square peg in round hole. I remember the first or second year that beilama was hc when we lost to a&m in ot we ran it straight up the gut on 4th and inches and they had whatckooked like all 11 guys coming. A play action and Brandon would've walked into the end zone or a fake to the fb and flip outside. Anything but a slow developing deep handoff to the fb hell if your gonna do that qb sneak it! It's these things that are burned into my brain that make me question beilama going forward. If I'm some schmuck in a recliner why do I feel like I see things better than our coach who gets paid 4 million dollars?

I honestly think we will be a lot better on the offensive line this year, and next year, than we were last year.
That was an anomaly. I believe. Now I could be 100% wrong, but for this moment right now I think we will look more like the Florida game, than the auburn game.
I actually, the more I think about it, believe we will be a lot like that 2015 team. With one of the best offenses in the country.

Bert isn't getting anywhere close to the same caliber left tackle as he did at Wisconsin where all his starters there were first round draft picks, not sure why.
Some of it could be Pittman whose prized recruit at Tennessee and here was Skipper, for some reason.

Agreed, there are many signs to believe this should be a more solid unit as a whole. I'm not too worried about the offense overall except maybe the WRs but I think Austin can cover most of the holes at that position. The loss of RWIII sucks but I feel like we can expect the other RBs to step up as long as the Oline isn't a disaster.
I just don't know what to believe about the defense. I really like our secondary but the front 7 is a huge question mark imo.

A little random but I saw a stat the other day where PFF had Johnny Gibson ranked as the 7th most efficient pass blocking guard in the SEC last year. If him and Froholdt can take a step forward the interior of the line might end up being pretty good.

I expect both to take major steps this year but you never know.

No offense, but based on what exactly?
We lost most of our WR corps and the SEC's 3rd leading rusher, in addition to the fact that Austin Allen regressed in the back half of the year.
I'm the antithesis of a Negahog, but some of the offseason talk I've seen about how great our offense is going to be is baffling.

Personally I think Devwah is much better than RW3. Nothing against Williams but, in Whaley's limited exposure last year, he looked like he was in the AC3 level of talent while RW3 is just a good, steady back.
Posted on 7/18/17 at 4:49 pm to TheCheshireHog
I think Whaley is in a class above ac3. Ac3 was a great back but he did not possess the strength, power and speed that Whaley has. He might've had better vision but when Whaley gets to the 2nd level he hits a fear Collins never possessed.

Austin was hurt the 2nd half. If you don't remember the 2015 wr Corp lost guys to injury early and had to use unknown guys.
That team also lost its starting rb. Lots of parallels.
If you can't see that last year's team had nothing but newbies except the wr core, and how this one has way more experience across the board I can't help you.
