Just keep on ignoring the OL.
Their problems are mental rather than physical. That doesn't mean it will get fixed immediately or at all, but it's better than having physical problems. There was way, way more push than we saw last year against Toledo with a more experienced OL. They ended up playing fine around Auburn and played well enough to get us to 8 wins. I'm not going to melt yet. Next week they'll get to go against an undersized front seven and hopefully play better mentally, because they're going to get tons of push next week regardless.

I'm not melting at all. I'm saying the OL played terribly, which can't be ignored when evaluating AA.

First game this group has had as a unit. It matters a lot to play together in game situations. Watching some of the game today Froholdt was the main guy blowing assignments and he blew a lot.
His were stupid. He would help the center when he was covered up by a LB and the LB would then shoot the gap and Froholdt didn't even attempt to pick it up. I promise, he will not do that next week. If we have any coaching at all, they will drive in his brain to extend his right arm towards the nose, and watch the LB over him.
It's not the physicality that we lack, but just mentally knowing what the situation is and what your assignment will be. None of our guys got beat because of shifty footwork or being overpowered.
It's a new OL and as fans, we are going to need to be patient. It's obvious why Froholdt is out there if you watched him run block. Froholdt is only a RSFr and was just moved from the defensive side.
My guess is we will see marked improvement next week. In four to five weeks, this will be a fine OL.

Agreed, and two of those sacks were our new FB completely whiffing on someone coming off the edge. Yes, we need some work in this phase of our game but I think we will settle in and be fine down the road.
Its going to take a few weeks for the OL to gel. Well that happens.

He is no Kenny Thrill, thats for sure.

Yeah. Some of you might want to save your knee jerk QB evaluation for your fantasy football buddies.
Or are you going to say that AA sucked tonight as well?

That throw to sprinkle was big time. He is light years ahead of his brother. Just needs to work on his reads, and kicking Colton Jacksons rear

Things that go bump in the night.

As I've said repeatedly: I am close with coaching staff at FHS. Most liked AA's upside more than BA. He's more of a gunslinger for better or worse. He's probably going to throw more picks than his brother, but he's also probably going to win us more games.

Yeah, AA is going to be a really good qb, once the game slows down for him and he can go through more of his progressions.

Relevant data
37-58 63.7%, 5 TD to 2 INT, 1 RTD, 404 Passing Yards, oh-- and 2-0, despite being sacked *5* times in 2 games and spending more time running for his life than an LSU QB coach.

He made at least 2 top level throws last night. The touchdown to Drew Morgan's ouside shoulder and the touchdown to Sprinkle high were things of beauty.

Yep, and the outside shoulder throw to Hatcher for the touchdown late to put us within a 2 point conversion of tying the game was also a fantastic throw that was right on the money, and it's underrated because the TCU defender had fallen down and it was a walk-in TD.

I saw potential. He can be great.

I love his enthusiasm too- on the sidelines after the blocked kick for example. I think he's gonna throw some picks and maybe keep us biting our nails at times but he's definitely a baller and fun as hell to watch, I'm quite happy to have him at qb.

Sweet bump.

On top of being able to make the throws, I was impressed with his demeanor in post game interviews.

Yep. Bielema said that when he approached him on the sideline before the game-tying drive, Allen smiled and said "I got this". Kid appears to have "it".
