Jesus. Are you serious? AA did just about everything right today for his first start.

How can you say that with a straight face. His first series was a disaster and he threw an interception that led to a touchdown. With a chance to go up 21-7 he threw another interception in the red zone. He nearly cost us the game. Against La Tech.

I'm glad we got the W but come on. This game was a nightmare and Austin looked like a frightened turtle out there. He's undersized and will get destroyed by any defense with a pulse because our O line is pure, unadulterated arse.

The Great Dane playing OL had one long day in pass pro. That line worried me more than QB play today.

Pretty sure Bielema made it seem like the WR was at fault for that. Ran a bad/wrong route.

Both times? Are the receivers good or not? They were supposed to be the strength of the offense, now you're telling me they suck too.

Sprinkle ran the wrong route on the last interception thrown by AA. He admitted he did so in his post game interview.

I saw a talented young QB today. That oline was horrendous. I'm sure the kid got a little gun shy. He made some mistakes, but he also did something people continuously bitched about regarding his brother: He made a pass under pressure to win a game.

I saw a guy that made some plays, showed grit in taking hits and letting plays develop. He held the ball a little too long and of course staring down his receivers is a nasty bad habit for a QB.

He's gotta trust that his WR are gonna be where they're supposed to be. When he sees a guy breaking to get open on his cut a quick look off his shoulder and then throwing back to that target needs to become his religion.

He went 20/29 while being hounded. He's gonna be just fine.

Yeppers, I'm not down on Austin at all. He evaded well, and found receivers. He doesn't have the ejection seat mentality that his brother had, he's got more determination to make something happen.

We'll likely come to love and hate that about him.

Anyone who thinks the qb was the problem yesterday clearly doesn't understand what they are looking at.

Ok, we have a terrible O line. Happy?

Doesn't get any easier. We played fricking La Tech yesterday. People keep forgetting that.

The Oline will be fine. I'm sure running blocking schemes has been priority number 1. NOT exotic blitzes. Tech playing defense like they did was good practice and good film room material.

This.

Austin's picks, particularly the first one, were unacceptable and have to be corrected; however, it can't be overstated how important it was that he came back from that, lead the team down the field in crunch time and threw a crucial 4th and goal TD pass in the face of immense pressure to essentially win the game.

Not a lot of first year starters have to throw a pass like that with the game on be line in their first start, and almost none end up being successful in that attempt.

I'm usually one of the most negative posters on here, but I wasn't displeased with what I saw of AA. Maybe I've mellowed with age? Or, it may be that I quit reading all the preseason hype and stayed away since signing day. I seem to have much more realistic expectations and a much more pleasant demeanor on game day. Of course, this is just week one.
