Yes, and it stretches some good folks and they make sacrifices to spend that $800-1000/year. At some point you have to say 'enough'. The extra gas, in a lot of cases overnight accomodations, extra meals on the road... it adds up.
If that stretches folks, those folks shouldn't be going in the first place.
Extra gas: that's what, about $30-$40? Again, if you're truly spending $800 on tickets currently, $40 shouldn't be an issue.
Overnight: that's what, $60-$100? Depends on where you stay. Your taste shouldn't be that high class. A night in Ft. Smith, which is where we stayed when I was a kid, coming from South Arkansas, will run about $65 or so. I recommend the Holiday Inn downtown. That's where I stayed when I lived in Little Rock. Nice, affordable hotel. Much cheaper than staying in NWA.
So, did you not stay in Little Rock for the games there? I'm just curious.....

My cost to go to 1 game.
$350.00 Tickets
$80.00 Gas
$240.00 Lodging (2 night min)
$200.00 Meals
$50-100 misc shite (only added $50.00 to total)
$920.00 total (excluding my yearly donations)
Its not too expensive but isn't that cheap either

Pig feet, most of that cost is your choice, correct?
Obviously, you could cut cost on lodging, meals, and the shite. Correct?
My point is, if a person is a Razorback fan, you can stay in Ft. smith, where there is NO two night minimums and stay for $60-$70.
More than likely, judging by your list and guessing on your taste, you will spend about the same amount in Little Rock.
Right?

Yep. Someone who can afford season tickets for a decade can afford a tank of gas.

Of course

Not the meals, unless I want to eat fast food or call Coach Herbert for some PB&J.

If I'm already to Ft.Smith, then why not truck it own home?

about a 1/3 of that.
Not complaining about the cost, but just wanted to post my situation and why I will be pulling back until the product is better. This has nothing to do with the LR game situation, I firmly believe all the games should be on campus for the recruiting advantages alone.

No, it's the truth.
If your already spending $800, then $1000 isn't going to hurt you.
If the $800 your spending stretches a family, said family needs to look long and hard at their priorities.

I think you all consume cheese and wine....
Now that's some profiling!

Some folks reach a point where they have to make a decision. Only they know where that point is.
And you are right, they will look at their priorities and decide to watch on TV instead of going to games.
Understand it or not, like it or not, agree with it or not... but that's just the way it is.
But, NWA will take up what little slack there is to take up.

You'll be surprised how many LR and South Arkansas fans will attend games on the hill when that shite hole is finally closed..
I travel 2.5 hrs. to the War Dump and 1 hr. to DWRRS.
I don't have a problem with travel, rooms or ticket prices.

You know this also means the Fayetteville package price will be going up by 50-60 dollars (or more) per seat.
Know there a great many who only buy Fayetteville books. Some of them may have to give them up as well.

Good for you. You don't fall in the group that will.

I'll be saving money by buying only 1 game in the war dump, instead of 2

Well, that kind of excludes you from the group I was talking about, doesn't it?
Posted on 11/26/13 at 8:15 pm to WonderWartHawg
So you're trying to say a single ticket to a game at home in Fayetteville is going to jump up to $115?
Posted on 11/26/13 at 8:18 pm to WonderWartHawg
All this move does is justifies enclosing the end zone.
There is a waiting list on suites right now. Suites alone will make more money than a single game would at War Memorial. Club seating will also be available in the north end zone. Something not available in Little Rock.

You obviously don't realize how many NWA fans buy Fayettechill and War Dump books?
tWarDump hasn't been supported by Central and South Arkansas fans forever.

Seriously, don't you think it ought to be proven that you can consistently fill up the seats that are already there before adding more?
