I know, and I'm saying the backlash isn't unique to Arkansas, or the south. The NFL's tv ratings are down significantly and a lot of it is backlash over this very thing.

It's their right to protest, but it's my right to call bullshite on what they are protesting.

Statistically speaking there is no evil boogeyman out to kill black people. It's a bullshite narrative that the liberal media puts forward.

There are two groups of people that hurt black people: Black people and Democrats

It's their right to act like idiots and it's my right to think they're idiots. But it's still their right to act like idiots. No rules were broken. I don't respect anything about doing that, but firing a coach and kicking players off the team would be ridiculous. I'll continue to have the same view of women's basketball that I've always had and that's that I don't give a shite about it.

My thoughts exactly.

I think it's profoundly disrespectful to kneel during the national anthem. However, I also love and appreciate that we live in a free country where you can exercise your myriad rights regarding speech and protest provided it's done in a peaceful fashion. They have the right to protest by kneeling during the national anthem, and we have the right to protest in kind by ignoring them, which for most of you shouldn't be an issue.

Also, lets not act like they have some big point they're trying to make. I'd hazard a guess that most of the athletes doing this have no idea or couldn't explain what they're protesting beyond vacuous generalities if pressed -- they're simply doing it to fit in and be cool (God I sound like an 80 year old). This is meme theory at its core.

I never needed an excuse to not watch Arkansas Women's college basketball. Interesting to see if Mike Anderson lets his guys do this tonight before the game.

No excuse for allowing this disrespect at the collegiate level.... those ladies are on SCHOLARSHIP ....FREE COLLEGE because of this great nation.... let them go to any other country in the world and see if they can get their college paid for because of their ability to play basketball.

So sick of this crap.... if the country is so dang bad.... LEAVE!!!!!!!!! very simple... otherwise show respect...
as for Dykes.... it's his team... these aren't pro athletes. There should be punishment.....
I hope the women's team loses all 50 of their fans over this.

I don't know if it's true or not but I saw someone reference this last night on Twitter and it was said that Mike has already been asked about it by the media and said that he understood the stance but that wasn't the place to take a stand.

I mean he's really in a no-win situation no matter what he says.

We're human. There have always been stereotypes and probably always will be no matter if it's about race, religion, sexuality or whatever. Sure it has gotten better over the years but I just don't understand what the point of protesting is. You're not going to get everyone from every background to agree on something no matter what the issue is.

They aren't out to disrespect those who died in combat. It's not their problem if other people illogically come to that conclusion.

Also, right to free speech was not given to anyone by anybody. It is a natural right.

You are correct, there is no law.
However, it IS incredibly disrespectful to not only our country, but to THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of men and women that have served, fought and DIED to give these ungrateful women the 'right' to say 'frick you' to them.

The sad thing is, these misguided anthem protesters are hurting their cause far more than helping it.

They have the right to protest and people have the right to protest them

It's America, that's what makes us great.

I don't like that they are doing it toward the Anthem, but it their choice.

The protesters say they are using the Anthem because its the only way to get people talking about their issues, but the problem with that is, the conversation turns into free speech vs respect for the Flag, instead of police violence against minorities.

With all that being said, their protest is a failure. Proof is this thread, I think I'm the only one that has mentioned police violence against minorities and we are on the 4th page.
