Haven't looked at our schedule much, but how is TCU supposed to be this year?

Big 12 Coaches talk anonymously about TCU

TCU

"Gary (Patterson) wasn’t happy with their defense or their offense last year, so I think you’ll see some changes, but you’re limited by your personnel. And I just don’t see them being back in the top half of the conference."

"They’ve always been so strong on defense, so it was real surprising to see what happened last year. I think they just lost some guys that were good players for them, and just weren’t as talented as what they have been up front."

"They always had so many good defensive linemen, especially the interior of their defense. A couple years ago, their linebackers were awesome. They just don’t have that kind of linebacker play anymore, that disruptive type of player they’re used to having, and because of that I just don’t think they’re as formidable."

"They’re good in the secondary but not great, so they’re just a step down personnel-wise overall on defense, and when you’re struggling on offense that’s not a great combination."

"They’re struggling to find a quarterback to re-create what they had with (Trevone) Boykin. With Kenny Hill it just hasn’t clicked yet, and I’m not sure it will. His supporting cast isn’t what it should be, and he’s struggling because of it and he’s losing confidence because he’s struggling."

"They don’t have those dynamic receivers who could really help him."

"It will be interesting to watch their running back (Kyle Hicks). He’s a talented kid.”

Phil Steele has them 3rd in the big 12 FWIW. Projections seem to be all over the place.

I have seen a lot of this, and that's why I think we could have a good season, but just expecting disappointment.

— Jared Cornelius has a similar back issue to what he had last year. He's off the 105 because the time he'll be out coincided with the start of classes. He should be ready maybe a little before. He's on campus and watching film. Felt comfortable doing that because he's played so much. — T.J. Hammonds sprained his knee in a routine play during practice. Will be limited 3-4 weeks and could be back for the FAMU game, but if not then the TCU game. He's a quick healer. Was in his office today. — Armon Watts bruised his elbow during today's scrimmage. Nothing significant. Dylan Hays rolled his ankle and is in a boot. "Wasn't real severe." Should be out a short time. Scoota Harris was rolled up from the back, nothing of significance to the knee. In a brace, but nothing serious.

quote:

N Britto Tutt landed weird on his knee he'd previously hurt, so they held him out. Had some swelling. Nothing structurally. — Will Gragg suffered a concussion last week and is in concussion protocol. Should be back early next week. — Jeremy Patton is very intelligent and eager. Tweaked his hamstring in practice the other day, but should be back Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. — Dre Greenlaw is "right on the cusp." Really wanted to go today, but they held him out. Went full speed through warmups. They should get him a heavier workload next week. If they played a game, it'd be him and Scoota Harris as the inside linebackers. — Brandon Martin has a back injury and will be back Monday. Had missed the last 2 days. — Giovanni LaFrance missed some fall camp last year and redshirted. Changed his body and leaned up during the winter. Explosive player. — Very excited about Santos Ramirez. He "looks like Tarzan." As a captain, the growth he's had since January has been impressive. Gave a team talk about respecting the game and its importance this week. — Korey Hernandez tweaked his hamstring in the spring and is on the cusp of either redshirting or playing this year. ..

Mazza would be a great addition to a less than stellar special teams unit.

We need help at all ST positions.

We've had pretty good punters. Why have we never let baker or Irwin hill try their hand at place kicking? And who is this mazza kid?

Kurt Anderson isn't planning to go anywhere, but when he does leave Arkansas there will be some left tackle tape that will go with him to teach technique. This may surprise some who wonder if Colton Jackson is the question mark for the Arkansas offensive line. The teaching tape will be of the new left tackle for the Razorbacks. “I have set aside six or seven clips of Colton from the past week,” said Anderson, the second-year line coach at Arkansas. “It's the type quality that I can take with me. It's how you set for the blitz, how you handle a twist, how you pass protect. It's top quality stuff. That's what Colton is doing for us right now.”

So I hear our defense looking like shite again. Got blasted by the second team offense multiple times today. Prepare for more of this year fellas

Based off the stats, it doesn't look like that is correct.

Tired of our generic arse, t-shirt fans who find negative in everything we do. Keep your moral loss bullcrap on hogville.

So one guy if you watched his hudl who has hella ability to make something out of nothing did just that means our D sucks. Sure.

Here is what I learned. Our O line spent a frick ton of time on pass pro. Pettway has stepped up. Our 1st team o line needs to work on run blocking (which if you read the kool-aid be posted you would see we realize that.) Our second team defense did well at stopping the run because of this. I expect we will work heavily on it and we will be very balanced like 2015. This team has a very similar feel to that one. Just this one is focused on winning and not reading their headlines like that one. We start fast this year. End strong.

I really like kurt andersons summer teaching technique. Im hoping it pays off. Bielema must be confident in him and his plan or he wouldnt have kept him on after last year.

We're gonna learn a lot more about Anderson this year. I'm not sure anybody could have made chicken salad out of the chicken shite we had last year.
