Both of these are fantastic pieces of news.

I just got a feeling Smothers will be the odd man out. I expect Jefferson to win the LG job and Frank to challenge Charp for starting C job

Agreed. Bert and Pittman have been talking up Ragnow as day one starting material since NSD, and Jefferson didn't come to ride the bench.

I think we start the Auburn game with:

LT Skipper LG Jefferson C Ragnow RG Kirkland RT Cook

There's just too much talk about Ragnow. I think they want him in there.

Ollison is the biggest disappointment to me. Everyone all the way back to Petrino was so high on his chances to be really good and the guy can't even crack the first team

Everyone should watch the Jim Chaney interview. Reading the quotes he has about Brandon don't even begin to tell the story. His enthusiasm and body language really shows that he's 100% truthful when he talks about him running the offense perfectly.

He should haver stayed on the defensive side of the ball.

I think he could have been a really good contributor at DT for us.

I do too. Charp got his doors blown off a couple times last season. He's just not what Pittman is looking for at the position.

Dan Skipper is a huge, angry, mean son of a bitch and I love it.

Damn that interview with Kirkland is the funniest thing ever. The reporters he had questioning him were terrible. I couldn't stop laughing listening to them try to figure out how many Wednesday's there are in the summer.

Thanks for the links. We have a very likable team. They'll be easy to cheer on this season.

Denver Kirkland saying he can be "WAYYYYY better than last year" is pretty fun to think about. He was pretty impressive as a freshman.

Skipper is so nasty, he is really going to piss some people off this year.

the reporters make some of those interviews so damn awkward. asking a good question is an art form. and it's apparent most of those reporters idea of good art is monkeys throwing their own feces on a wall

we need cheshire media to jump in there and show them whats up

Kirkland seems much more comfortable in front of the camera. He didn't stutter or hesitate as much as he did last year. It really shows that these guys are gaining confidence and knowledge in more than just football techniques. I really liked his confidence in the line's capabilities. The coaches are high on the line but you can see it in the players body language and hear it in their voices that they are going to push some people around this year. Pittman is worth his weight in microwaveable El Monterey Chimichangas.

really like the recurring theme in these interviews is the players talking about how they've gotten bigger/stronger and they've been spending a lot of time in the film room

For a guy who gets a ton of love as a crack "evaluator of talent" who has a knack for finding diamonds in the rough, Petrino was terrible at every position outside of QB and WR. And you can't really call Mallett (5 star), Wilson (4 star), Adams (4 star), Jarius (4 star), and DJ Williams (4 star) hidden gems, because they were all highly rated and/or had very good offers.

Didn't mean to get off track, but every year when our recruiting rankings started falling in the gutter, all we ever heard was that Petrino was a soothsayer when it came to evaluating talent, and 2012, 2013, and our current depth all prove that was complete BS. Allen is our QB basically out of lack of options, our tailbacks are entirely comprised of non-Petrino players or Bert recruits, and the only starting linemen who ever saw the field for Petrino are Trey Flowers and Brey Cook.

eh I would argue he was terrible at every position outside of the defensive line
