Well I meant to start it here. I guess it got pretty tarded on the OT.

I mean, you gotta keep it relevant over there, with topics like: "Has anyone on here ever been in a fart ending relationship?"

People are standing in line for gay marriage licenses in Eureka Springs today. What a crazy world.

the truth is that those who are Christians will soon be having to ask for rights under the state and federal laws. Consider this please.

Simply because those of us who believe in the Bible will all be lumped in with those very few very vocal idiotic hatred loving idiots who claim the same belief, without knowing their butts from a hole in the ground.

I believe homosexuality is a sin, as are so many things. I believe it is wrong, I believe God made Adam and Eve to be together, not Adam and Steve. However, I do not hate anybody and will not preach, teach, advocate violence, riot, or act in a unchristian manner with this.

I am not a member of the Westboro Baptist Church, nor do I want to be identified with them one bit.

Lol, please. You can teach whatever you want. You just can't impose your religion's rules through legislation.

Are we the first SEC state with gay marriages to happen in it? One of the first?

Exactly. I started to type a long response in agreement with this, but decided against it. I would just like to add that IN NO WAY are Christians being persecuted by this decision. You can't just cry about being persecuted because you are no longer allowed to deny people the ability to do something that IN NO WAY will negatively effect you. I don't totally understand the whole "gay" thing because I don't really have any gay friends, but if the right to get married makes them happy, then I am all for it because it does not trounce upon my rights in the slightest.

Christians male up like 80% of the US, yet have some persecution fetish, like they're a mistreated minority. Really weird.

Many Christians have this victim mentality even though they're the vast majority in the U.S.

It's fricking weird

If you are born in this country or have gained your citizenship you should be entitled to the same rights as every other American. Your sexual orientation should not influence what rights are extended to you.

"Christians" feeling persecuted ,because a judge decided that gays will not be persecuted through legislation based entirely on Christian belief, is a little ridiculous.

Its in the bible, first the Jews being persecuted in the old testament, then the Christians/Jews in Rome in the new testament.

Many have a hard time reading either book and thinking of the context of when it was written, what was going on in the area(s) during that time in history, etc. Many of the teachings are in parables and taken literally when the original author of the text did not mean them to be, there is also secret meanings/code used that makes sense in a historical context, and thus is not meant to be literally, but is taught and learned as a literal meaning centuries later. There were also many books left out of the new testament that fills in the gap of a young Jesus to all the sudden being a 30 year old politician, if you read them you will see many of the stories/parables do not fit the narrative being created at the time they were cut from the new testament text.

I will respond again later, Gay Marriage or giving them the same rights isn't the real issue here within my own mind. It is being labeled a hate mongering, hate spewing person if you simply disagree with homosexuality from a Biblical or Christian perspective.

Anywho...

What does that have to do with striking down a gay marriage ban?

Imposing your religion on others through legislation may not be hatemongering, but it's wrong, and people who try it are assholes.

Simply having the opinion that homosexuality is immoral doesn't make you an a-hole. It's what you do with that opinion that decides whether or not you are a hatemonger or a-hole.

I agree with this partially, however there is already legislation that was shuttled thus far, being pushed in the US Congress that reflected the following. And I believe sooner or later it will be passes as some has already been in Canada.
1. If you teach or preach in a church building the idea that homosexuality is wrong and sinful, it would be considered Hate Speech and you could be fined or jailed with so many offenses.
2. If you refuse to Marry two gays, but perform traditional marriages, the church will lose its tax favored status as a non profit.

I have this info at my office in files somewhere, however this is what I have read from some reputable sources. FWIW...

Ironic that those saying "freedom" would push for the lack of it for other beliefs, or lifestyles...
