Changing my mind... I think it's Beard's job to turn down and will probably happen by the weekend if Muss announces.

Also, been in a board meeting all day today at OSU. They’re really excited about their new guy. Lutz has a decent track record but has bust written all over him, IMO.

Now for obvious reasons I'm less inclined to believe this, but there's also a screenshot of a text conversation between an Arkansas insider and an Ole Miss insider going around that says that Beard prefers this job so much that we basically only have to offer him and he's ours. But with how easily those are faked now, I'm taking it with a grain of salt until there's something more solid to prop that up with.
It does seem like we're making moves in Oxford's direction, though.

According to a source, Ole Miss’ Chris Beard has yet to ‘officially’ sign the extension with the Rebels which was announced during the SEC Tournament
Apparently Beard might not have actually signed that extension at Ole Miss yet…HY this is so easy if muss leaves you get the man you wanted when you first got muss. Get Beard.
