that's not why they're doing this. They know we hold nothing sacred. They could slap a Hook 'Em on the front and as long as it was in a cool, black font our dumb fans would love it.

There was a year or two when basketball and football used different brands, pretty sure the football team still used APEX for the couple of years the basketball team used Converse, then all switched to Reebok, then Nike, then Adidas, then Nike, lol.
APEX was the company who started the changes with the uniform under Ford, and brought out the "candy striper" unis for the basketball team, Converse continued the same jerseys, although we may have used converse shoes with the APEX unis is why I'm thinking of them as I'm not sure what APEX ever made outside of hats and god awful jerseys.
When we went to Reebok in 98 is when we went back to the plain tops with white pants/two stripes in football, those lasted until we went to Nike who gave us the magenta unis of the Matt Jones era and red pants.

Kentucky was in a race with us in the 90s on who could have the most hip basketball unis, although they failed miserably when they went to the claw marks on the shorts, shorts that were never as long as Arkansas'.

However, only Alabama and Oregon dictate terms to Nike. The rest of schools, including ours, bend over and take whatever they ship our way

Bielema has said multiple times we're gonna ride these jerseys out through the contract which ends after this season and then we're gonna go for a more traditional look. Why you need more confirmation than that baffles me. Jesus the bitching on this board the past couple days has been ridiculous

The more I think about it, IIRC, why we went to Reebok to begin with is so we would be with a company that supplied everything head to toe.
IIRC, with Apex we had converse shoes in basketball and reebok cleats in football.
That also factored into the last contract as we were using adidas apparal and Wilson balls, going to Nike simplified the supplier contracts as they supply everything.

I wasn't talking about basketball. I said earlier in the thread that bball look hasn't changed too much until now and it has looked good. Now we have more gray which sucks.

I'm frustrated that 90% percent of our fanbase seems to think our 06-07 era uni's were our best in a long time, but seem to also believe that Nike will give us anything comparable. Uni has changed every season since... (and they aren't improving)

BBall has changed dramatically, Pel went as far as fricking up the name on the front of the jersey and reversing what should say "ARKANSAS" and "RAZORBACKS".
Nike doesn't do shite the school doesn't want them too.
As comparison, WKU used a traditional look up until this year, now Russell has given them their best copy of our uniforms complete with the mascot name down the leg...

06 style nike football uniforms would be perfect....keep the white helmet option though...I'll admit it I dig them. put the hog jumping through the A on the basketball shorts, and put the slobbering hog back on the court once and for all, and call it a day.

Nike doesn't force anything on us unless we choose to order out of their stock catalog. The school 100% signs off on any and all changes that Nike makes and is heavily involved in the design process.
