I'm not sold on Ivory or Lake. I know that some project Robinson at OL but I think he could dominate on defense as well. I really hope to see him on defense, we really need some beef at NG.

I would be surprised if he did.

Ivory hasn't been that bad when healthy, and Lake hasn't played near enough to decide one way or the other.

I generally don't expect true freshman to have an impact on either the O or D line at all. I prefer them RS to give them time to develop except in extremely rare cases such as CyKo. I don't know if Robinson is that type of player.

What have you seen that causes you to not be sold on Lake? He looks the part, thats for sure.

Funky, I think it was all the reports I read last year where the coaches were always on his arse and making him redo drills. I hope he pans out so that we could use Ashawn on the OL but his scout bio said that he commands double teams and sometimes triple teams at DT.

Ah, I remember those reports, but I also remember many people saying that the fact that his name was being mentioned was a positive for him, if you catch my drift. Hopefully he will be a beast, but Robinson is going to be good.

Coaches yelling at a player means they think he is almost ready to play. Saban was all over DK and GS their first years.

He might be the 3rd string NG and see a lot of playing time late in blowouts but I don't see him being a significant contributor this year unless one of the NGs suffers a serious injury. It's going to be an Ivory/Lake tandem all the way.

Paige could be a factor at NG too if he qualifies

I'm not sure serviceable from Ivory will be enough to make our three man front click. I know he has the size but he has done nothing to make me think he's the answer in the middle.

Remember when Jessie went out for a while against UGA? Ivory was dominated by the UGA center and guards till big Jesse could come back in.

I didn't see enough of Lake to know if he can get the job done or not. We need a NG that commands double teams in order to free up the backers behind him.

Robinson was rated the number one DT prospect last year even though he would be considered a slam dunk OL as well. His scout bio says that he commands double and sometimes triple teams. I think he could come in and make an immediate impact on defense this year though it would be better for a rotation of Ivory, Lake and Paige so that we could use Robinson on offense. We'll see soon enough.

Ivory had a bad ankle and wasn't even supposed to play against UGA. We wound up having to play Square at NG which is why they gashed us til Jesse came back in

OK, that makes more sense. Are you sold on Ivory?

On the fence. I think Lake/Robinson/Paige have more upside. Ivory won't be a star but he might be solid like Chapman

staff saying he was the best NG they evaluated in terms of upside when he camped at Bama and telling me he has NFL potential is enough for me.

When i went down next to the sidelines last year for one of the games, I was impressed with Lakes size up close.. Very imposing individual.
