Then go after the people calling him sexist. Don't go after the reporters who called him out. That's two different things.

When did I go after reporters? Go back and read what I wrote.

The original post in this thread was about how reporters like Feldman, Mandel, and Ponder were calling out Cecil.

Cecil was a dick. Can we at least acknowledge that? He didn't need to say what he did and was factually wrong. As bad as Heather's takes might be, she has a journalism degree. And she's qualified.

I'll tell you that people calling Cecil a sexist are wrong. And I'll also tell you that Heather has always gone after Alabama. I'm waiting for you to at least acknowledge that Cecil was an arse and didn't need to be.

And that it was fair for other reporters (his colleagues) to call him on it.

I'm a woman and I think it's utter bullshite that they are making this out to be a sexism thing.

Cecil has tweeted snarky shite about male analysts and no one said a word.

It's actually sexist that the people coming to her defense are making it about her being a woman. As if she can't just be a hack without having to link it to her having a vagina and ovaries.

Cecil didn't say jack shite about her gender. Everyone else brought gender into it.

I want to be treated equally but that means taking the bad with good. If I want to flame someone on this board and act like "one of the guys" then I have to be able to take insults back and deal with the consequences. And usually the replies back here ARE sexist - asking for pics, go make a sandwich, calling me fat or ugly.

I'm going to be more insulted by someone patronizing me and patting me on my head just because I'm a woman. frick Heather Dinnich.

PS - Didn't vote for Trump and using this board's political leanings as a baseline I'm just to the left of Che Guevara.

When you say everyone else brought gender into it, it's other Twitter trolls...

Not their colleagues...

I won't say Cecil was wrong for thinking that. I also believe everyone has a right to jump his arse about it if they disagree.
My problem is the people calling him sexist. That's wrong.

We're arguing about people on Twitter.

People on Twitter are stupid.

Talk about the journalists who are calling him out. All the other crap is stupid.

So where were these colleagues when Cecil said shite about analysts with a penis??

Don't tell it's not white knighting for Heather Dinnich's private parts when you and I both know that's it exactly what it is.

No one jumped to Danny Kannel or Paul Finebaum or Colin Cowherd'd defense when Cecil tweeted shite about them.

This is 100% about him saying mean things to a girl.

Think about the people you just listed.

Has anyone ever felt like they should stand up for Finebaum, Kannel, or Cowherd? Those guys are terrible.

At least, it seems, Heather has the respect of her colleagues.

We all know the three listed above have no respect from anyone. They're on the same level as Skip Bayless

Nope. Hate that orange clown. But I have taken to pretending politics don't exist. Kind of like how I tried to ignore Alabama football at the end of the DuBose and Shula eras.

Ok, well what's the basis for Cecil calling Heather unqualified? Is he just a dick? Or does he not know how to properly articulate a difference of opinion?

And is it not ok for other people to say what bothers them? Or does other people saying what bothers them when it's in disagreement with you bother you?

So now we can't discuss the Twitter people calling him sexist, and we should disregard 3 male journalists. Please tell us the rest of the rules that you want us to live by, your excellency.

Oh, so because the guys I listed are trolls or shite stirrers, then we just say "Oh. frick you. You don't count! Insult away!".

HEATHER DINNICH IS A TROLL TOO.

But because she's a troll with a vagina - "OMG! MEAN THINGS ABOUT A GIRL! THIS CAN NOT STAND!!!"

Do you even realize how patronizing that is? Again, if all of Heather's many defenders had stood up for their male colleagues when Cecil insulted them then you'd have a point. But they didn't. They only felt the need to shame Cecil when the target of his insult was a woman. THAT is fricking sexist.

I'm sure people assumed Kannel and Finebaum and Cowherd were big boys who could defend themselves. Why do they not assume the same about Heather?

Because she's a little girl. frick that.

What bothers me is calling him sexist. I don't give a damn who disagrees with me. Like I said people have a right to disagree, but calling him sexist is just wrong. You're just trolling now

Talk about whatever it is you want to talk about. But when the thread starts with talking about the journalists calling out Cecil to then you bringing up normal people on Twitter, I just want to clarify what it is we're talking about. And also want to say that people on Twitter are stupid and say stupid things.

People everywhere are stupid and say stupid things. Clearly, Boston isn't immune.
