Raborn transferred before last season.

So Foster is sticking around for sure? Evidently so.

There's a ton to watch this spring.

DL-who steps up to join Payne and Hand in the rotation? We like to rotate 6-10 guys here...that's a lot of slots to fill. Frazier will be one at DT...but who else?

LB--with SDH nursing the knee, who joins Evans at LB? Wilson, Jennings and Miller are the best bets but Ben Davis, Moses and Hall could all make moves. Does Holcombe get serious about football or will he switch to baseball full-time?

Secondary- Tons of talent here, but as already mentioned where does Fitz land? Which of the young corners will step up to join AA at corner? Can Brown keep his nose clean and hold down a starting spot either at star or corner?

At QB--All eyes on Hurts passing game. Will Tua or Jones push as Hurts did last year?

WR--Ridley is locked in, who joins him? Diggs, Sims, one of the young guys?

OL--should be a strength this year, but who joins Jonah, Boz and Piersh?

RB--How do you pick a 2-3 man rotation when you have 6 backs that could start at other SEC schools?

He will see where he stands after spring I'm sure. If he looks like a starter he may stay, if he has other guys ahead of him, he will likely head out. Personally, I don't think he ever fully recovered from the shoulder injury last year.

As always, I'll be keeping an eye on the offensive line. I hope you're right that someone in the secondary emerges the way Averett did. By the end of the season in particular he was playing some high quality ball.

I hope Foster sticks. Guy can be lethal with Ridley on the other side.

Will be curious to see who plays RG and RT. I look for Cotton, Leatherwood or Baker to man those spots.

In order to get the best 5 OL on the field, could anyone image the following happen

LT: Leatherwood
LG: Ross P
C: Williams
RG: Bozeman
RT: Baker

Saban did say Williams could play anywhere in the OL.

Unless Baker just had an issue running on pro day it concerns me that he could play tackle with a 6.1 forty yard dash.

Bozeman was too good at center to move imo and I think Williams will stay at RT with Leatherwood taking LT.

Bozeman was good at center last year, but I think he is better at guard.

Bama's tackles were elite last year, the interior of the OL was the weak point.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama football opened spring practice on Tuesday with its first of 15 workouts.

The Crimson Tide took the field in shorts and helmets as the team works toward its A-Day spring game on April 22.

There are a lot of moving parts on the first date, but here’s what we saw.

Injury updates

-Linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton (right knee) worked off to the side with head athletic trainer Jeff Allen. Hamilton injured his knee in the SEC Championship Game. He is expected to be ready for the season.

-Running back Bo Scarbrough (leg) wore a black, non-contact jersey, but he worked with his position group.

-Same goes for running back B.J. Emmons (foot). He worked with his position group, but wore a black jersey.

-Safety Jared Mayden rode a stationary bike and wore a black jersey.

What we saw

-After closing the season at safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick lined up with the cornerbacks on Tuesday. Fitzpatrick’s versatility is a huge bonus for Alabama with Marlon Humphrey leaving school early. Fitzpatrick lined up next to returning starter Anthony Averett. Ronnie Harrison and Hootie Jones were the top two safeties. Add in Tony Brown as the nickel defensive back, and Alabama has a very experienced secondary.

-Rising sophomore Trevon Diggs worked with the secondary on Tuesday. He played both safety and wide receiver last year, but finished the year as a receiver and punt returner.

-Former 5-star linebacker Ben Davis lined up with the outside linebacker on Tuesday. Davis, who redshirted last year, spent all of last season working with the inside linebackers. This could be one of those early experiments, but Alabama does have a good bit of depth at inside linebacker.

-With Shaun Dion Hamilton sidelined, Rashaan Evans led the inside linebackers through drills followed by Keith Holcombe. Evans could have a big senior year if he’s able to stay healthy.

-In your “he’s to big to be a freshman” update, January enrollee Dylan Moses is a large young man. He worked with the inside linebackers.

-Shawn Jennings, the younger brother of outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings, is working with the inside linebackers. The younger Jennings was hurt most of last season.

-New Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne watched practice.

BOL is reporting Jonah Williams lined up as the first team LT.

No mention of who played RT.

Minkah playing corner is probably the biggest news. Ryan Fowler is raving about Mac Jones on radio down here. Fowler's a hot take guy so probably means nothing.

Guy barely has more than 20 catches, 200 yards, and 2 TDs in his career, and yet I still see this.

Potential just means you haven't done shite yet...

I sure hope we don't keep moving him around so much that he never reaches his potential. Hopefully, he either sticks with defense or offense.

Agreed on Diggs, they need to settle on a position and develop him there.
