Tuscaloosa is in the running to get an Aston Martin plant. Tuscaloosa sorely needs more manufacturing, all these service jobs can't keep the economy afloat. That influx of high paying jobs and money will sustain the fragile economy.

I think we'll get it. If they build it close to Mercedes, that reduces transportation cost and forms a good partnership with Mercedes. Also start incorporating the basic frame of the car.

Uber may come back to Tuscaloosa

Hope so. Bar owners, particularly the one at Inisfree, has been vocal about the taxi services here. Would be awesome to have Uber

I tried Anthony's Italian Kitchen on McFarland the other day. Phenomenal. Better than DePalma's IMO.

I think it's been open a couple of months. It's by the AT&T store on McFarland after Rice Mine Rd exit. It's easy to miss it because their sign blends in.

Post Office Pies opens in T-Town!

Great news. This is the best pizza in Birmingham, IMO. Only drawback to the Bham one is they only serve Avondale beer, which is terrible beer.

I mean it's better than Bud, Miller, Coors, etc., but around town it's generally regarded as the worst brewery in town as far as beer quality. If they didn't have a great taproom in a hip location, they'd be out of business.

Something about their beer gives me terrible hangovers after only a few. I otherwise never get hangovers, even when I drink heavily. Their beer is the only thing that gives me hangovers. Couple of friends of mine have experienced the same thing.

Weird, I like it better than Goodpeople(except Snake Handler) and Cahaba. I have only had Trim Tab's IPA, and I like it about the same as Avondale's Battlefield IPA.

I agree with this. Terrible hangovers.

Different strokes. I do know a couple of people that love Avondale, but most of my friends that are craft beer fans don't like it, or only like one or two of their offerings. Good People is the most popular with folks I know, followed by Trim Tab.

The only Avondale beer I thought was decent was their Scotch Ale, and that's just not a style I drink very often.

They do this in Bham because they are located on Avondale Brewery's property so they can only serve what Avondale makes thanks to Alabama's crazy state laws.

The Tuscaloosa location has beers from many different breweries as well as a full bar.

I don't think our Post Office Pies has its liquor license yet. But they will have a full bar.

Don't know if it's been discussed yet, but 301 (located at L&N Station) has probably the fanciest bar/cocktail menu in town. They also serve 32 oz beers and have a bier garden. I haven't tried the food yet but hear it's excellent.

Yeah now I remember reading that a while back.

First time I went in there, I went to get a beer but when I realized it was only Avondale I told the girl I'd just have water. She said I wasn't the first one to do that.
