Sims only plays because of his blocking.

I have no idea how Foster plays.

Neither player has developed after 4 years in the program.

ETA: this OL looked underwhelming and overmatched the entire game. Take away Harris 75 yard TD run and it's pretty meh.

I agree, but Jay Barker had Brian Burgdorf behind him, not Tua. This offseason will be a battle.

I won't disagree with you, but as fans go, I knew Bama fans that were yelling for Burgdorf back then...other than when AJ was QB, and perhaps Hollingsworth in '89, the backup QB has always been a favorite, especially in the post-Bear years...

This board can't handle being even slightly critical to Jalen. Any other player or position group we can call awful no problem, but you say Jalen isn't anything to write home about as a passer and people lose their minds. He is a great runner, has great poise, doesn't turn the ball over. Those are huge. Just really average on a not so average team as a passer.

There is this and then there is the "Jalen sucks" crowd. Many people can't have a discussion, they go all in with hyperbole and need to be right while the other person is wrong.

Hurts is a good qb accounting for everything he does, including being an average passer. I personally think he has made some pretty strong strides from last year, but I also thought he was a very weak (not meaning arm strength) passer last year.

Honestly, if he makes the strides in the passing game people are looking for, he will be one of the best qb's we have seen in the SEC in recent years because he is that good of a runner. His running ability is a huge part of our offense and the qb position at Alabama right now so we can't discount that.

This has all probably been said before, but I haven't really paid attention to the Bama board much this year so haven't been involved in the qb discussion.

You joke, but if Tua gets the nod, or when Tua becomes starter, there will be a contingent.

Backup QB is typically one of the most popular players on the team.

Just heard this in the radio

Texas AM is almost even with Auburn in reference with rush def and evens more sacks. Said Tamu is as talented.

Need to verify

Ok so sacks Tamu #2

Tackles for loss #10

Rush def they went to 28 after us at 200 ypg they were 118.

So they were solid and I don’t think we knew that before

Jesus Christ! We jumped them to 28th from 118th. Why didn't we use Jacobs more?

I think he was in the doghouse for his 12 men in the huddle penalty that killed the momentum of an early drive. Scar had just ripped off a 9 yard run on 1st down.

Dabol was chewing him out on the sideline and didn't see much of him the rest of the game.

I get that our offense failed to get any sort of momentum and rhythm but we need to put this into perspective.

If our offense looks like shite all game but still puts up almost 30 points against a good team, we're in a good place.

All the bitching in this thread is absurd.

Sorry my wording was poor. They were 118 YPG and now 200 YPG after playing us. They ranked top 10 before we played them now 28th.

Jay Barker?

From the 1993 championship game vs Miami....

Alabama was outgained, 326 yards to 285. Tide quarterback Jay Barker, who has led his team to 17 victories in 17 starts, completed just 4 of 13 passes for 18 yards, with 2 interceptions.

Jay got dramatically better and may be considered legendary, but if he was very average to good in that game, Hurts is Tom Brady in dreads.

I honestly think Daboll likes Bo because he reminds him of Blount.

It is. I think a lot of people just saw how last season ended when we struggled offensively, then we have 2 straight games of some of the best offensive efficiency in the Saban era, and people overreact. Chavis is a good d-coordinator and had his unit ready to play. We weren't as prepared, and had some bad breaks along the way. It happens.

Bo has some upside, if he breaks lose he is gone and he is a handful to tackle once he gets up to steam. I’m waiting for his breakout game. He seems a tiny bit soft on contact in the middle is that just me?

Yep that was my point above, they are actually damn good and rank higher than Auburn in almost every category.

Said a couple of pages back we are discounting how good A&M is on defense and that Chavis is a smart coach who schemed us very effectively.
