With Coker out this week Saban said Morris, Bateman, and Barnett were getting the reps. Didn't mention Cornwell. Then there is the rumor that he didn't play much in the last scrimmage because he made comments to Kiffin and Saban about Barnett getting so many reps with the 1s.

This is a post by Boz, doesn't mention Bateman, TIFWIW:

QB situation is fine, Right now it's Coker, Morris, Barnett. The Scrimmage tomorrow will make or break someone. Coker will lead the pack in the scrimmage but those three are all getting 1st team reps. I will be there so hopefully it isn't a dumpster fire like last sat.
Btw Cornwell is not playing, his performance at practice and the scrimmage was terrible. Overthrows, under throws, not where they go throws.

The more I hear, the more I think Alec Morris will be Alabama’s starting QB — barring a subpar performance in tomorrow's scrimmage
The real question is whether Saban will get his name right if he is the starter.

"And the winner of the 2015 Heisman Trophy...Alec Morris."
Saban: "Don't worry Alex, you'll get em next time."

Cornwell supposedly played decently with the 3's during the scrimmage but appears to have fallen even further behind. I thinks its pretty much accepted that he has found his way into the doghouse.

Da fuk he do? Surely just expressing his displeasure about BB getting first time snaps is not the only issue. I remember Stories about AJ being a little bitch towards Simms and don't think it affected his playing time. Must be something kiffin is pissed about.

Your RA. I don't understand the offense.
You can email me at lovethetide@gmail.com if you want to explain.

I think I know what you're talking about. Don't worry about it.

I'm fine with morris. He has a good arm, makes good decisions and takes care of the ball, knows the offense, and had been a great team mate while patiently waiting his turn. Plus he has 2 years left to play so you get a little stability while the younger guys develop. If our defense and running game play up to their potential he will be plenty good at qb for us

This QB battle is bizarre. I really thought Cornwell was going to win it, but the reports make it sound like he is completely out of the running now (really can't believe that is the case, has to be more to it).
Now some are saying Alec Morris is in the lead. Most had him as an afterthought in this batter. Just bizarre.
I was looking back at recruiting profiles of the QBs and it's pretty interesting (from 247):
Barnett (2015) - 5 Star, 2nd rated QB, 21st overall
Cornwell (2014) - 4 star, 4th rated QB, 79th overall
Bateman (2013) - 4 star, 4th rated QB, 80th overall
Morris (2012) - 3 star, 26th rated QB, 567th overall
Coker (2011) - 3 star, 15th rated QB, 534th overall
Essentially getting higher and higher rated guys each year (I know we didn't get Coker in 2011, but still). You have the two "mediocre" recruits in Coker/Morris. Then came the two "above average" recruits in Bateman/Cornwell. And then the "elite" recruit in Barnett.
Some reports have the two "mediocre" recruits battling it out to be the starter. I know some of that is explained by age/experience, but still interesting.
Hopefully Barnett lives up to that elite billing eventually. First truly elite recruit at the position in a long time.

First off let me say with my 1st post..It's great to finally be part of the board..!.
what sticks out with coker Is he is very slow with his delivery...
I think he will be more effective thru play action more than shotgun spread..
Which will sound odd seeing that in gun..
The qb is further away from the line of scrimmage.
But what you will find is his fluidity thru play-action it will make him play faster.
He needs his drops and set up to be much quicker.
To help compensate for his release time..
In the a-day game he threw a wr comeback to Stewart..It took like 4 seconds to happen.
If you go back and look at the average time a QB has on plays over 10 yards..- 1001, 1002,
1003-max.The ball should be out there hands.
Coker took that same amount of time for a Wr comeback..Short side..
Without cooper teams will challenge our wr early on.
because no safety help until our new Wr's establish themselves.
On the bright side it means they will be deep ball plays to be had.
Coker has a big arm and shots will be there.
Again the play-action pass plays will be Coker friend if he gets the spot..

Cornwell just seems kind of douchey and entitled. The kind of guy that would drive a guy like Saban crazy.

I was worried people were gonna start saying this.
He has NEVER seemed "douchey and entitled" before this came out. If anything it is a young guy in a stressful situation who didn't get those opportunities. Nothing douchey about it. Nothing entitled about it. Since his recruitment he has always come off a high character, team first guy. I don't think it's fair to let one possible incident create a negative opinion of him.

Maybe his looks play a little into it. He resembles a douchy and entitled guy I know where I live.
