Just a phenomenal kid with a great attitude that has all the tools.

He's a little old school and reserved. He doesn't do social media or get caught up in typical college hoopla which is great, but I think that also hurts him in a sense with his peers who find it odd. When Jameis came in the team responded to his charisma and extroverted personality more. Chemistry is a big factor. I'm all for Jake but I don't know if he can "win the team" as it's been put so many times. Just so introverted.

That's nice to hear, actually. With all the media hype, it's easy to assume he's got a huge ego.

Side note about the introverted thing: It seems like we have a fairly high number of our best players described as "Quiet" or "quiet leaders." I've had a theory that that may have something to do with 1) Saban himself not being super talkative unless he has a reason to. Quieter players may choose a HC who is as well instead of a motormouth party animal coach. 2) Our depth. Guys not feeling a need to be the BMOC
don't mind being on a team full of 5*s. If you want to be THE STAR you might go somewhere like Kentucky.

I think even last year it was out there that he didn't.

For example, after transferring in someone told the story that they were in the locker room and they were talking about Coker on the TV and they told him and he didn't even look up at it, he just said "That's cool".

IIRC the word was that he made a comment to Saban and Kiffin about Barnett getting a lot of 1st team reps as a Freshman, or something like that.

So who do we think the #1 option is gonna be in the passing game?

Probably too early to tell, but I think it'll depend on the situation...if we need a big play, maybe Stewart or Foster as they appear to be the most explosive...but when we're in the red zone or need a jump ball, I think it'll be one of the taller, more physical guys, either Foster, Ridley, or, if he can get back on track, OJ...or if we need a first down, maybe Mullaney as from what I've read thus far, he seems to be a Kevin Norwood style of WR (good routes, good hands)...and if Chris Black gets back to full health, who knows what he can do. Lots of potential at WR, let's just hope the QB can get 'em the ball consistently...

That's the rumor, but I'm not so sure that's true. I bet he gets solid reps in this week's scrimmage.

Yeah, the motion itself is ugly.

No doubt. Every time I watch it, I almost expect him to mix in crow-hop.

I don't know shite about throwing motion but is it normal for his arm to curl behind his head so much before he comes forward?

Normal for him ?yes.

Normal for every other QB to ever throw a pass? no.

Hopefully not

We should learn a lot more about the QB situation after this next scrimmage...If it is Coker, Cornwell, or Barnett

Again everyone remember the "AJ in the doghouse" rumors when he was placed with the 3s to show what kind of reaction he had to adversity

I don't buy the rumors of Cornwell...I would believe them about Blake

It will be interesting to see if Kiffin gets his way or not (his guy by all accounts is BB)

I'm not worried since this D will be AMAZING

I dunno Bucc. Saban is a very deliberate guy in the press conferences. Him going out of his way to NOT mention Cornwell means there is something going on there. It may not be a doghouse thing per se, but I dont think its anything like the AJ situation.

So Robert Foster has an MCL sprain. I don't know how severe the sprain is but I wonder if he will be 100 percent by week 1

They haven't said. Personally I thought having him on the field was a great idea.

i doubt it. Breaking in a new QB and being more hands on is what brought him out of the booth last year. Daddy NS said so last year and it worked out pretty good. I see it again this year
