i think ryan anderson has practiced inside more than devall though

I think so too, but Anderson has been more impressive as an edge rusher than Devall, IMO.

i thought i remembered tim williams playing inside some too?

I don't recall that, but he's played some Will in a 43

quote:

williams moving inside, would become our most athletic ILB.

I don't know how well Williams would do in coverage. He was a DE in high school and has worked primarily as an edge rusher in college. I think he has great closing speed going forward. But, when I look at defensive players one of the greatest distinctions I see among college players is that some guys are better running forward and some guys are better running backwards. Vinnie and LC26 we're safties, but they were better running towards the ball than they were tracking a ball in the air. Rashaad Johnson and Haha were great at tracking the ball. Ro was better at attacking the LOS, CJ was better in coverage (although, by his senior year, CJ was everywhere). It seems that we recruit a lot more guys that are great at attacking and need to work on coverage. But I haven't seen much from Tim Williams that would convince me he would be strong in coverage. Just line him up on the edge and let him use that explosive first step to get around the tackle. Keith Holcombe is the guy I want to see be a coverage backer. He has great size and was a safety for most of his HS career. Havent heard anything about how he is progressing though

So without naming him, Michael Carvell (whom I hate) has been insinuating on Twitter that Christion Bell got some interesting news (read "greyshirt") from our staff yesterday. Without naming names, Bone said that, depending on how the numbers work out, he could greyshirt but the possibility was discussed with him a long time ago and he's fine with it. I'm sure Carvell will try to spin it as the biggest travesty in the history of mankind though.

If he is asked to greyshirt though, it would have to indicate the staff feels good about landing several of the remaining targets

We have enough room for 27 and may not even sign 25. Carvell is an idiot.

Sounds like HaHa didn't think very much of Steele.

Ha Ha has been real Bammer'ed up lately. I wish he'd had that much Bama in him when it came time to come back for his senior year

....or to not take money from an agent.

I'm going to say Cam Robinson is the reason we more than likely aren't getting one this year. That's the only thing that kinda makes me feel better. I'd hate to think that the coaches just fumbled the ball lol.

They did. We do this occasionally where we frick around and think "we're Alabama" and try to wait until the last minute to lock it in. Sometimes it works out. This time it didn't.

It's like bringing a girl home from the bar. All night, you have your eye on 3 different ones, trying to decide who to pick. They each have certain flaws, one is too sloppy, one has a droopy eye, one is loud and annoying.

They're all servicable, any of them would serve their purpose and you wouldn't have to feel ashamed about it, but we just dick around all night and end up taking home the fat bitch or jerking off into a sock.
