BB's pass to O.J. Howard down the middle for a 40 yd or so TD last year makes me think he would have been better.

One pass, in garbage time, against a team that had already given up? Not very convincing.

I have not seen Hurts make a throw like that in his career.

Hurts made at least a few similar passes in 2016.

I would really like to see us go back to being Bama on offense. I hate that we started running the Auburn or Tennessee offense. I know coach doesn't want my opinion but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We won 4 national championships with a pro-style offense and power running game.

People need to stop giving a damn about individuals and worry about the team.

I don't give a crap who the QB is really, I want the guy who gives us the best chance to win to play, period. Always, now and forever.

Stop having man crushes on individuals.

I don't care about stats or systems either. I want to win. Play whoever and however will best produce wins.

The coaches started the QB they thought would give us the best chance to win. Were they right? I don't know. This is one of the few times I've questioned a personnel decision by Saban. But, who am I? Just some dude. We'll never know if Saban also regrets the decision.

However, when we trotted a TF out there as our starting QB, our chances of winning a NC plummeted. I suppose a more accurate statement would be they plummeted when we got in the situation to have to trot a TF out there. That team still got amazingly close to winning it anyway, which is a testament to the team as a whole, and the coaching. However, it's difficult for me not to think about what might have been with a passing QB.

And none of that is anti-Hurts. He was just doing what was asked of him to the best of his ability. He may turn into a great passing QB. He'll certainly get better with reads and progressions. I was just disappointed from the beginning that we had to play a TF QB that was always going to limit the offensive play calling, even if he'd been an accurate passer. Barnett had the arm and the knowledge, but perhaps not the team or the poise. Hurts had the team and the poise, but perhaps not the arm or the knowledge.

From the 48 to the 20 yd line? That's 28 yards...

He released the ball 5 yards shy of midfield and OJ caught it at the 20... That's 35 yards my good man.

The coaches must not have seen that one play...

If you think BB should've started over Hurts, then you don't trust Saban. Saban's not perfect but he's not gonna start a guy at any position unless he thinks that's the best chance for Bama to win. I would've liked to have seen a better passing attack but I wasn't at the practices...I'm sure the coaches had a reason to go with Hurts...

He did start Barnett the first game of the season. As we know, Hurts started the next few and Barnett split the scene. Who knows what might have transpired the rest of the season. We got into the SEC schedule and the defenses learned that if you contain Hurts and get decent pressure, he probably won't beat you with his arm. Had Barnett stayed, he might have taken back the starting role. On the other hand, it may have created a divided team.

In any event, he did transfer and it looks like it worked out best for him, as he got an ok from the ncaa to play from the get go. Did it work out best for Alabama? We don't know, but it's a moot point.

The first one I referenced was a 30 yard perfect dart. The BB pass was a great pass, but it was no more impressive than the ones that I linked.

The second one I referenced wasn't as long of a throw but it was every bit as impressive as the Barnett throw.

The third one wasn't as long either, but was more impressive IMO. It was a dart through a perfect window where only Stewart could catch it, with about 4 DBs on his back.
