Amazing that Town and Barnett ended up being less than ideal in that 2015 class. Both ended up transferring.

People give saban a hard time for not naming a starter until game 3 of the season; this is why!

Do you know how embarrassed I would have been if my mom was going around and demanding shite from my coach? That's humiliating.

I figured that was the answer. Just wasn't sure since his response to me is still there.

I guess we need "Hide post and replies and replies to replies".

Will probably transfer to a California community college, there's a ton of them and use that to leapfrog to a Fresno or San Diego State. I don't think he's developed enough to compete at SC or UCLA.

The truly amazing part to me is that they had any idea that shait would work on Nick Saban.

Anyone have the link to kiffin telling Barnett to go to the bench after he came off the field? Saw it on twitter and can't find it now.

Maybe so. But history suggests that QBs that transfer don't live up to the expectations placed on them. Some do. And maybe he's one of those. Good luck to him. I'll just never agree with the timing.

I don't know if this is the exchange you are referring to, but this is based on the gif posted by "@AlaBayouBama" on page 3 of this thread. Here is a link to the play on youtube...

I'm skeptical. QB is as much a leadership position as a physical aptitude one. His demeanor and mannerisms every time I have watched him doesn't exactly scream "leader" to me. To be honest, he strikes me as a guy scared to death out there who's shy of getting hit.

I'm betting we never hear much from him ever again.

Troy Aikman transferred from Oklahoma to UCLA. Jake Coker was successful after transferring from FSU to Bama. Russell Wilson transferred from NC ST to Wisconsin. Nick Foles left MSU to go to Arizona. Even Ryan Mallet (as skankish as he was) had success at Arky after leaving Michigan. Those are just a few off top of my head. I'm sure there are more.

The fact that he transferred doesn't mean he won't be successful elsewhere. He didn't look scared to get hit to me. He looked scared to make a mistake and, as a result, the game looked too fast for him at times. I'd bet he will go somewhere and play at a fairly high level. He'll get drafted one day too, I'd be willing to bet.

I hate when he left, but if you don't want to be here, I'd rather you leave now so we can move forward with those who do instead of you stay and possibly poison the team with an attitude issue.

Chad Kelly was asked to leave. And self-confidence damn sure ain't Chad's problem.

I'm not saying the mere fact he's transferring precludes him from success elsewhere. But I do think the timing and circumstances of his decision speaks volumes about Barnett. Given that, and what I saw of him when he played, it's my opinion that he's never going to amount to much. I could very well be wrong.

None of those guys left mid-season, not even Mallett. The negative feedback regarding Barnett is due to him essentially quitting the team mid-season. Remember Gunner Kiel? He actually had some success after eventually landing at Cincinnati, but still got beat out (albeit after going down with an injury).

Not me. I'm just trying to be objective about the guy's prospects for success at his next spot.

I was, have been, and am firmly in the Hurts corner on that Hurts/Barnett debate. Barnett looked scared to make a mistake and he didn't look ready for the moment. Hurts did and I'm glad the staff never looked back.

I hate that the kid quit on the team mid-season like that, but I'd much prefer him gone and his attitude with him than here and sulking.
