Enterprise beat baker 51-14. Play undefeated McGill-Toolen in the second round.

Yeah I gotcha. I'm not a Maplesville fan anyways. I hope y'all beat them. But if y'all end up playing Isabella, I hope they destroy y'all haha that's the team I pull for

Decatur beat Cullman last night 35-10. We play Ramsay next week.

LaDarius Woods became the first DHS RB to gain 2,000 yards and only the 7th RB in Alabama high school 6A football to gain 2,000 yards.

He joins Larry Ware (Lee-Montgomery), Dwayne Hicks (Lee-Huntsville), Keldrick Williams (Sidney Lanier), TJ Yeldon (Daphne), Roc Thomas (Oxford), and Desmon Turner (Fort Payne).

He's the number 3 ranked baseball player in the state, too.

He's a great kid, too.

GO RED RAIDERS!!

Anyone wanna do their predictions for the first round?

7A
McGill-Toolen vs Jeff Davis--McGill-Toolen
Enterprise vs Baker--Enterprise
Central Phoenix City vs Murphy-- Phoenix City

Davidson vs Auburn--- This could be a sneaky game for Davidson if they don't watch out. Auburn isn't their normal self, but they still are a talented team capable of pulling off the upset. Since starting 1-2, they won 6 of their last 7. That being said, Davidson is 9-1 on the year and nearly beat the best team in the state, McGill-Toolen. So I'm going with Davidson.

Hoover vs Bob Jones-- Hoover
Spain Park vs James Clemens-- I think James Clemens gets the upset here.
Hewitt Trussville vs Oak Mountain-- Hewitt Trussville.
Mountain Brook vs Gadsden City-- Gadsden City.

Almost predicted it perfectly.

That Spanish Fort-Carver game was insane. Down 22-7 IN THE 4TH QUARTER, and storm back to win 23-22 in a game winning FG.

Ben Blackmon is now 31-4 overall in the playoffs.

I don't know anything about McGill-Toolen other than they are obviously pretty dang good. Do you think Enterprise has a shot to beat them?

I doubt it, but I think Enterprise can make it a close game.

Toolen's defense is stout. Held Jeff Davis to yards in the second half. Albeit it's Jeff Davis, but that's still impressive.

Bubba Thompson is as an impressive efficient QB who has started to get offers from Ole Miss and Tennessee.

McGill was the southeast 7 on 7 champions this past summer. They beat some elite Florida and Georgia teams to win the title.

I know 7 on 7 has little to do with playing the game in pads, but that is their style. They just want to neutralize the line of scrimmage when on offense then use their athleticism to turn it into a 7 on 7 game with pads. They have one WR committed to USCw and a lot of tremendous athletes.

Their defense is pretty tough also.

Don't know much about Enterprise, but if speed and athleticism are a problem with their DB's, McGill will exploit it.

Enterprise does have some speed off the edge with Chris Ross. Biggest challenge for Enterprise is if they can establish the run up front with Trey Robinson (839 yards on the season so far). They can do that to a stout defense like McGill, then they can start to open it up and hit Flowers and Warren over the top (combined 1185 receiving yards on the year).

Well Verbena lost

Goshen really didnt seem like a great all around team, prob will get knocked out of the playoffs this friday. Glad my brother got to enjoy his senior season! Do they pick players to play in the All-star game based on stats?

The only interest have been from Huntingdon and Faulkner...He went to a couple camps, but none of the big ones. His coach has never had college level Athletes so he had no idea how to contact colleges. Verbena also has a receiver that took a vist to Troy, they was apparently at a game but only ones I saw were Huntingdon.

Not sure how the selection process goes, but I do know you ave submit a participation form and get a fax from the school submitted before November.

I believe the rosters have already been selected too.

You are talking about the Ala-Miss all star game right?

Keep an eye on Auburn High and Central Phoenix City. Not nearly the rivalry that Auburn High and Opelika is, but still some bad blood.

Phoenix City beat Auburn back in September 42-14, but this team is completely changed and has won 6 of their last 7.

I feel like Park Crossing doesn't ever get talked about. They're one of the few 6A teams still undefeated and have one of the best players in Malik Cunningham. Guy has accounted for over 3000 total yards and 21 passing touchdown and 16 rushing.

They'll play Bessemer City this week, which I assume they'll win convincingly Miles Broadnax (RB) nearly has 800 yards on the ground to compliment Cunningham.

Spanish Fort/Hillcrest should be a hell of game. Defending champs vs. 11-0 #1

Without a doubt, my game of the week.

I'm really rooting for Hillcrest to win it all in 6A this year.
