McGill vs Hoover for 7A state title.
Posted on 11/18/16 at 11:48 pm to phaz
Maplesville struggled at Sweet Water for 3 quarters before pulling away and scoring like 25 unanswered in the 4th to win 60-34. No one will stop Maplesville this year.

5A is crazy. The only 2 undefeated teams (Scottsboro and Carroll) got destroyed. Briarwood shut out Mortimer Jordan and Jackson killed St. Paul's

I can't wait for Maplesville at Linden. The winner of that game will win it all. That game has become a huge rivalry and anytime they play, there's probably gonna be fights and cheap shots and anything u can imagine. I remember when I played for Maplesville in 8th grade we played at Linden and it was crazy! Our HC was about to cuss out the refs, one of our players got mad on the field and threw his helmet across the field and walked off, a fan on our side got arrested, and then the lights went out for awhile and we sat on the sideline waiting for them to come back and they eventually did. I can't remember if we won that game or not but it always a very heated game, and it definitely should be this Friday with the state title game on the line.

Maplesville is just one step ahead of everybody, much like Alabama

Yep. They have a mindset at that school that they will never lose. If they lose a game, the whole town is in shock and doesn't know how to act. It's really something special and unique. I wad pulling against them for awhile while I played for a rival of theirs but now that I'm graduated, I kinda like seeing them dominate. Plus I played 2 years at Maplesville so it still feels like home and it's hard to pull against them lol

Maplesville is pulling away now. 36-14 in the 4th.

Maplesville beats Linden 36-14 and will advance to the state title game for the 4th straight year, looking for their 3rd straight title.
