Why didn't we push harder for Kouassi? I know he's not a game changer by any means, but he could have added some much-needed depth & defense in the post. And he would have only taken up a scholly for one year. Was the coaching staff just not high on him?

I feel like we need wings more than anything really, which is why Eubanks is such a big deal. I don't feel like we're in that bad of a shape for bigs, mainly because I think Riley is more of a 4 than a 3 in today's game. I mean he's maybe our best natural rebounder.
We just seems a bit low on wings, especially considering people don't seem to be that high on Austin (at least that's what I've gotten from lurking this thread).
These are the guys we have with the positions I think they could play (granted I don't know that much about our recruits)
Coleman (point)
Retin (point, 2)
Dazon (point, 2, 3?)
Austin (2, 3)
Hale (3, stretch 4)
Riley (stretch 4, 3)
Kessens (4, 5)
Hall (4,5)
Jimmie (5)
Am I forgetting somebody? Jeez, we need to add somebody. I know we have King and Johnson Jr coming in next year, but that's not a deep team.
But if you look at it we have 5 guys that could play as one of the 4/5 (even if Hale is REALLY a stretch 4). But we look low at the wings, really low at the 3, especially if you agree with me that Riley is more of a 4. Given that you don't really have to have two traditional bigs out there at all time, I don't think we're that desperately in need of another big.

I'm sure he will be off there are any unused scholarships. So this year, I'd think yes. But later, he may not be.

I think we didn't pursue him because of his guardian.
@GoodmanESPN: Kobie Eubanks making his decision on Monday. I'd be shocked if he doesn't pick Alabama.

Yeah I think getting a guy that could play the 2/3 is the most important need we had going into next season. Obviously being able to add another big would be great and make us a much more formidable team in the case of foul trouble or injury, but like you showed with our roster, we don't really have a 2 outside of Austin.

Personally, I hate Riley Norris at the 4. He gets abused defensively by bigger and more physical power fowards. And he doesn't get to fully utilize his strongest assets, which are passing and knocking down the three-ball. I wouldn't call him an elite rebounder either. Just my opinion.

Never said he was an elite rebounder - you don't have to be that to be arguably our best rebounder. You just have to better than Taylor or Kessens and that's not terribly difficult. He's clearly one of our 2-3 best rebounders.
I think he'd be more of a defensive liability guarding good threes than good fours (he's just not quick enough for some of the good wings), and I think he can utilize those offensive assets as a four. He's got potential to be a good high post four against zone defenses and he can still drift to the three point line as a stretch four.
By the way, I'm not even remotely against signing another big. We need numbers. Just think a wing is clearly our biggest need.
Like you said, opinions.

I do agree with him being one of our top rebounders, but I think that speaks more to what we don't have, rather than what he is. But wherever he ends up, 3 or 4, I just hope he excels. Even with this underhanded roster, I still feel optimistic about the upcoming season. I know shouldn't, but I do. I'll feel even better if we get a Eubanks commitment on Monday.

I agree cant believe we didn't get another big. I thought Kouassi would've been idea. Be here for a short time and can rebound and play defense.

I asked Hank on BOL if Eubanks had done enough this summer to become qualified and he said from what he's heard, yes.

We'll be better and win a few more games as long as we have some sort of offense, not the dumpster fire we ran under CAG.

Langford to Michigan State.

Does he have a family connection to Michigan because he was heavily considering both schools up there. Sucks that we missed on him but maybe we can get lucky and pull a guy like Ferguson.

@AdamZagoria: 2015 SG @kobeeubanks announces at 12:30. All signs point to Alabama. Would be nice pickup for new coach Avery Johnson.
I imagine that means 11:30 CT
