Why would we go after a PG? I would like a big and a scoring wing. A Juco guy if one is available.

@Marq_Burnett: Alabama coach Avery Johnson said the staff is focused on adding a small forward/wing and a big man in its 2015 class.
I don't understand our need to add a small forward in this class but Johnson knows much more than I do
Those are two positions that Bama is sorely lacking, IMO. While Hale and Norris could play the 3, I'm not sure either is really the athlete you'd like at that position. And, Taylor and Hall both lack a solid offensive game to force defenses to help down low.
Obviously Justise Winslow type players don't just grow on trees, but I would imagine that is the type of small forward AJ would love, and is hopefully going after.

If we added a wing, that'd give us 4 guys that could play the 3: Hale, Norris, Garrett, and the recruit. While I don't think it's a huge need, I won't complain because depth is something we haven't had in an eternity. I do hope at worst we grab a guy like Kouassi to bolster post depth.

I think SG is the glaring need. We need some shooters which is why I'm a little confused as to why we didn't offer Turner, but offered this Dikembe kid. I know next to nothing about him, but Turner is a much more highly regarded prospect who fills a glaring need. I'll put my faith in CAJ, but I he might be underestimating how much of a bitch this zone can be at the collegiate level.

I think Norris might be the only one that's a true wing.

I agree with you 100%. Austin thinks he is a pure shooter I don't see it though.

What would you consider Garrett? Hale's lack of lateral speed makes him more of a stretch 4 rather than a true 3, but I would definitely consider Garrett a wing. Now how good of a wing remains to be seen

With us, Arkansas, and MSU all offering this kid, I wonder if it's the more likely case of teams being desperate or if he actually is a true sleeper?

I don't know about Garret. His highlights just show him rebounding and dunking. Not creating his own fault.

Looking more and more like Donovan is going to take the OKC job. Dickerson and Keith Stone would then become available, I'm guessing. Would be a dream scenario, but would love to cap off the recruiting class with those two. Would fill the 2 biggest needs we have in a big bodied post and a shooter.

I saw this posted by a guy on tidesports and I remember a situation like this in the ACC when Clemson originally signed Marcus Thornton, but if those guys were let out of their LOI, would they have to sit a year if they were to then sign with another SEC school?

A potential new name?
From Scout

There aren’t many impact recruits left in the 2015 class. One still on the board is Kobie Eubanks.
At one point, Eubanks had sliced his list of schools to five, but with recent coaching changes and staff movement, his list has changed.
According to Delray Beach (Fla.) Elev-8 Prep coach Chad Myers, Oregon is still involved, while Alabama, Mississippi and West Virginia are trying to get in the mix.
“I think he’s going to take one or two visits and shut down,” Myers told Scout.
“He’s open, but it’s not going to be a long process,” he added. “It will be in the next couple of weeks.”
Eubanks, a 6-foot-5 wing, is regarded as a four-star prospect and is ranked No. 54 overall in the 2015 recruting class.

ESPN's scouting report on Kobe Eubanks is that he is a terrific sharp-shooter and a great athlete that needs to work on his handling and overall game. Would love this addition...

I saw Meyer CB'd him to Bama and I asked him on twitter about it, but he hasn't responded. His will guesses aren't always the most accurate
ETA: He said he CB'd him to Bama because his brother is a football guy we're recruiting..

I wonder if he only recently qualified. 3 somewhat sudden SEC offers are enough to convince me he can play.
I kind of expected something to happen already with Kouassi (sp). Anybody know what the hold up is?

I dont think he has an offer

His offer was probably like the one Turner had which means we are interested and scouting him, but he couldn't call up Johnson and commit right now.
