Why would you consider transferring to OSU? Coach BOB just led the Patriots to a whopping 14 points per game. 31 out of 32 teams. If you feel the need to transfer go where someone will help you thrive.

He should take it. BoB has been a coach under Saban and Belichick for 8 years. Dude has 0 titles.

I mean....

Why do you guys think players only care about making you the fan happy?

The kid was promised by Saban he would be there and Saban retires before the kid even gets a full season with him.

The new guy comes and brings his personal favorite who he obviously wants to be the guy... and you think Sayin and his parents should just gamble their kids/investment future on hoping the favorite kid won't be picked over their unfavored?

If I’m Air Nolan I’m splitting during the spring window. All the things you said apply for him as well plus he has to deal with BoB.

I’d be gone the second the spring transfer portal opened.

Meh. Saban hasn't promised he would be there to any recruit in two years.

I have zero problem with Sayin or any other player who came specifically to play for Saban transferring out. Even if he goes to OSU. He'll be the starter for 3 years if he beats out Air Noland.

Air Noland’s comp is Penix Jr, who looked darn good in the DeBoer offense. I know we are loaded at QB but just saying…

Robert Gillespie was his recruiter. Maybe...

I couldn’t give two shites what happens to guys like Downs or Bond but I have no ill will towards Sayin. He wanted to be here but didn’t like Mack coming in. Hard to blame him. I hope he goes to USC instead of Ohio State tbh.

I know ppl don’t like that he dipped out and looks like he doesn’t want to compete but that’s a credit to Austin Mack. He’s a stud and has the staff’s trust already.

I'm sure he will as well.

These coaches make promises to this kids then bring in someone to replace them before they even give them a chance.

It's QB... there can only be one and they are delicate

I agree.

All scenarios aren't the same and they aren't equal.

I've said this in another thread. Mack competed in a much tougher division then Sayin. Sayin never won a title as a starter in a weaker division, and Mack won one his only year as a starter.
I'm guessing Sayin came to BAMA to sit behind Milroe a year, and then Simpson for 2, play 2 and go to the draft.
When DeBoer came in and brought in a guy younger than he, from the same state, that's already been in DeBoer's system, he saw the writing on the wall.
I'm guessing that in 3 years, we'll be "whew"ing this anyway. I just don't think Sayin is a going to be the next Bryce Young.

Unless a guy from CA is from the L.A. area, I would be very cautious about his ability to play big time football. There are few exceptions. Is Mack an exception? DeBoer thinks so. He seems to know qbs.

There are very few qbs that grow up on cotton farms in Firebaugh, CA, get no D-1 scholarship offers, and end up starting for an NFL team.

Hard to understand why Ryan hired BoB. The heat on Ryan is past Medium now with Go Blue running the B10.

I don't know what all Sayin talked about with Saban as a recruit but I can all but guarantee the plan didn't involve the #1 QB in the country riding the bench for 3 years and spending 5 total years in college before going pro.

This take may have been valid before the new portal rules, but now it’s not much of a gamble. Sayin could stay and compete for the job, which is arguably easier to secure with a new HC. Under Saban, Sayin knew Milroe would most likely start again next year… we all did. With a new HC, he had a completely fresh competition. Worst case, he doesn’t play this year, which he expected anyway… then transfers next year. Best case, he’s QB1 at UA.

And while Saban’s allure is massive, I understand it more for the defensive guys than the offensive guys…

My point being: the current portal rules all but mitigate the “gamble” of him staying at UA

And I can all but guarantee that this guy, as good as he looks on paper, isn't going to start in the next 2 seasons, unless he goes Sun-Belt. My guess is that he either ends up on a team that has an established starter in place for the next 2 seasons, so he can fill out and adjust to the college game, or he goes back to Cali.

Bryce Young was ready to play at BAMA so early because he played qb for one of, if not the best highschools in the country. He even benefitted from sitting behind Mac, though. Nobody had ever heard of Carlsbad before Sayin. It's not a traditional football power.

These rankings mean exactly jack shite. The stars recruits get mean about the same. We know these agencies bumped star rankings depending on what universities were recruiting them.

Why hasn't Sayin signed anywhere yet, if he was so great? Who is recruiting him? How's his NIL? My guess is that BAMA's interest in Sayin made him appear better than he is.

One thing is for sure, his current ranking means frick all.

You're pretty fricking stupid if you believe Saban promised any recruit in the last year or two that he wouldn't retire during their 4 years.
