Where you guys getting this Petty to Kentucky stuff? Said it a while ago we should've took kids who wanted to come in stead of waiting for Sexton. He got far to big for us. Knew the blue bloods would do whatever to get him. Sucks man reminds me of when CAG first got here and was going after big names...

I'm just saying it FEELS like Petty is leaning towards UK. I thought Cal backed off some and then he goes to Huntsville a few days ago to visit and eat with him. That was also the first player Cal offered for 2017 and that was Petty's main target before he got recruited by Bama. I hope I'm wrong about this tho. It would be nice to see Petty commit to us quickly and then Sexton want to follow.

One things for sure tho, Avery and his staff need to recruit Sexton as hard as they possibly can the rest of the way. Do whatever it takes to get him. Sexton can change the program. He's that good. We need him so bad! Avery knows this tho, I'm sure he'll give it everything he's got.

This thread is so hormonal. I'm glad we got a lot of new posters that care about basketball recruiting, but at least wait until real info or the actual season to start melting hard

Blame Grant for that lol. I haven't given up yet. Believe me. I'm so excited for this year. I'm just impatient. The good thing is, even if we do strike out on everyone, Avery won 18 games in his first year with Grant's players. He'll at least do that good every year I'm sure.

I do that every day now

I hoped that while KY was being selective we could develop enough of a relationship with Petty to sign him regardless if an offer from then ever arrived. Was told today that's not the case. We might sign him but it will be because KY got the guy they wanted.
Perhaps one of these days between work, having a baby, potty training a 2 year old and attending funerals, I'll get a chance to explain why it's better for a kid to be the man at a power 5 school rather than being 3rd or 4th option in their class at a blue blood. If I did it now it'd come across as sour grapes.
Not sure how Sexton got brought back into this. I'm a little nervous but believe we still present the best option for him. They already have a CG committed and Malik Newman becomes eligible next year.

All of a sudden out of the blue, Galin Smith went from a 0-Star to a 3-star on 247. Did we just get a Bama bump...on 247...in Basketball? Lol

Nothing has changed on Petty, y'all. He was always going to UK unless they got Diallo and a couple of others that would've made minutes hard to come across for him there. We were NEVER going to out-recruit Cal. That's not an insult to us but it's reality. Petty will take the fastest path to getting paid just like most other recruits these days. So hope that UK lands the players they want then somehow it gets in his head that he can come to Bama for a year, light it up and go pro.

As far as Sexton goes, we certainly ARE the best option for him. But, all that matters is if HE BELIEVES THAT : /

That inside info or are you just thinking out loud?

Nothing has even happened. Relax on the panic button.

Educated(maybe, lol) analysis. However, both Immanuel Quickley and Romeo Langford are getting pursued heavily by Cal. That wing could get crowded pretty quickly. Those guys are electric 5 stars.

I don't see Petty or Sexton as a one and done. They both need two years and as many minutes as they can get in those two years. That's not a knock on them either. Just reality.

I could understand Petty but Sexton? He looks like a one and done

Maybe I should say one-and-done and be a 1st rounder. There just aren't many PG that size that can go straight to the league. Most seem to need 2 years.

Depends on what his actual height is. Most sites list him as 6'2", some at 6'1", and others at 6'3". If he's a legit 6'2" and continues his hot play, he can easily be a first rounder with his athleticism.
