I've never liked Battle. He comes across as a man with a huge ego. Maybe I'm just comparing him to Mal too much though.

If we play defense like we did yesterday we can beat UCLA and mostly everybody else in the SEC except UK and Arky.
If there was a time we could finish top 4 in the SEC, it's this year.

This league is keeping Grant in his office. Any other power conference and we're below .500 in league play, count on it.

According to ESPNs stats on the bama page, our best Defensive stat has us ranked at about 220. With offensive numbers at 60 in ppg, and everything else mid 100s, we aren't going anywhere.

Hale wasn't benched, Cooper and Tarrant were. Grant said it was only to give them a rest. I'm not really sure what message that would have been sending to Coop, anyways. Kid needs all the confidence he can get. Benching him after the game he had would destroy him.

I haven't read this whole thread. So if I am putting a few words into folks mouths I apologize. Some people are saying he can recruit, but he can't coach. And that we have more talent than we have had in decades. That is complete nonsense. He can't recruit a lick. Gottfried is a way better recruiter than Coach Grant. We haven't had quality bigs the whole time he has been there. Even if u have NBA players sprinkled in the perimeter (which we don't), u still need bigs that can catch a basketball. Or at least maintain rebounding position on defense. Our bigs are so terrible under Coach Grant. More talent than we have had in decades. Absolute lunacy. In the mid to late 90s, alabama had more NBA players than almost any college in America. I would guesstimate around 8th. We haven't had an NBA player in freaking years. To say that we have real talent is just not true. The part that really makes me insane is we are supposed to be an "up-tempo pressing style" team. How the hell can u be a pressing team and your players can't break an opposing team's press? I wanted to fire Coach Grant last year but I think Battle is either chicken shite or has no real power. If he doesn't have the balls or power to fire coach grant after this season then Battke can go screw as well. I am tired of watching bad basketball. And people get it out of your heads that we are even a mediocre basketball team. We are a few notches away from even mediocrity.

i agree with you. Real talent is evident when a player makes it to the NBA. These mid majors do it with non NBA talent but they are in a system where they are developed and after 3-4 years when they are seniors then they are great college players.

But I saw the same o same o passing the ball around the perimeter then trying to find a good open shot. Bama BB has bored me to the point now that I will watch my normal shows on week day evenings and only go to the game during commercials
Yes I am a side wanker but if I lived near Ttown I doubt I would be going to a lot of games this year. I think a lot share my sentiment and no butts in the stands will get a coach fired. See what happened at UT before Butch was hired.

I don't think a single person has said we have more talent than we've had in decades? I think we have enough guard talent to be an NCAA tournament team though. But our talent level is nowhere near really any team
