I like it.

Jury is still out on Schotty, but I'm sky high on the staff we have in Athens right now.

Now we need a new guy to tell us how to use all these other new guys. Maybe a QCC, quality control coordinator.

The showdown before the Bowl and the outcome is what we are seeing here. Give Richt the same resources or he can take his ball and go home. We damn near lost our entire staff from poaching. Maybe we won't see any more articles bragging about how much money the AD donated to the General fund while begging us for money to help our team compete. Instead we will see articles on UGA being a great place to work in this profrssion with solid compensation and facilities.

I can't help to think that things are getting serious in Athens.

Yep, the limited investment model has worked well for our admins up to this point in terms of profitability. Fortunately it appears they are seeing the handwriting on the wall; you have to invest in your future to have a viable future.

That's exactly the feeling that I got. If I had to guess Pruitt wasn't happy with the AD's reaction to his comments and decided that he might entertain other suiters. Richt in turn got pissed that the AD would be more willing to let good coaches walk rather than give them the resources that they need to compete and threatened to retire. Rather than look like the frugal assholes that they are and lose their entire football staff, the AD decided to give in, albeit reluctantly I'm sure.

This is just how it went down in my mind.

Yeah it helps that uga has a president that is willing to actually give back to the football program.

This.

ADGM, I truly believe, was forced by PJM (possibly prodded by some Leaborn types) to spend the money. ADGM was hired by Adams and was still managing the ath. dept. as if he was still his boss.

Spot on about ADGM. Never met the fellow, but seen enough interviews to be pissed about his smug demeanor when it comes to investing in the success of the FB program.
