He is simply multitasking. Trying to think, listen to a guy on his head phones and the hyperkinetic dude in front of him. In the midst of all this he has to make a snap well founded decision. Its very easy to see if you frequent these situations.

This is STUPID! He is obviously listening to something on his headset, probably some strategery/debate on whether or not to go for two. Or more likely, which play would be optimal for a two point conversion. Have you ever been on the phone in a "heavy" conversation and had someone try to get your attention?
