LSU (3-2, 2-1 SEC) plays its second straight road game on Saturday when the Tigers travel to Columbia, Mo., to face Missouri (5-0-, 1-0 SEC). Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN with Bob Wischusen (pxp), Robert Griffin III (analyst) and Kris Budden (sideline). LSU is coming off a 55-49 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday, while Missouri remained undefeated with a 38-21 win over Vanderbilt. Both teams enter the game ranked in the Top 25 with LSU at No. 23 in both polls and Missouri ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No.22 in the Coaches poll.

Quick Notes:

- LSU will wear a No. 3 decal on its helmet again this week to honor senior captain Greg Brooks, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor the week of the Mississippi State game. Brooks continues to recover and rehabilitate in a Baton Rouge hospital.

- LSU’s offense ranks in the Top 10 nationally in 6 categories: No. 1 in first downs (144), tNo.3 in 3rd-down conversions (57.6 pct.), No. 4 in total yards (551.4), No. 6 in passing (353.4), No. 7 in scoring (44.0), and No. 10 in pass efficiency (183.6 rating).

- With 513 total yards vs. Ole Miss, QB Jayden Daniels joined Rohan Davey and Joe Burrow as the only players in school history to top the 500-yard mark in total offense in a game. Davey did it once, while Burrow did it 3 times.

- Against Arkansas in week 4, Daniels became just the 6th player in FBS history pass for 10,000 yards and rush for 4,000-yards in a career when he went over the 10,000-passing yard mark vs. the Razorbacks. In his 48-game career, Daniels has thrown for 10,647 yards and rushed for 2,440.

- Daniels has accounted for at least 4 TDs in 4 consecutive games. He’s the first player in LSU history to accomplish such a feat in the same season. Joe Burrow did it once – final 2 games of 2018 and first 2 games of 2019.

- Daniels has also topped the 400-yard mark for total offense 3 times in 2023, joining Joe Burrow in 2019 as the only players in school history to do it at least 3 times in same season. Daniels has 4 games with 400 yards of total offense in his LSU career, second to only Burrow, who did it 6 times.

- WR Brian Thomas leads the nation in receiving TDs with 8. He’s coming off an 8-catch, 124-yard, 3-TD effort vs. Ole Miss.

- WR Malik Nabers ranks No. 2 in the nation in receiving yards (625) and No. 5 in receptions (40). Nabers has caught a pass in 23 consecutive games.

- Nabers and Thomas have each gone over the 100-yard mark for receiving yards in consecutive games. It’s the first time in school history the same players have had back-to-back games with 100 receiving yards.

- Nabers became the 11th player in LSU history to top the 2,000-yard mark in receiving yards vs. Ole Miss with 8 catches for 102 yards. In 30 career games, Nabers has 172 receptions for 2,059 yards and 17 TDs.
With Daniels at QB, LSU has scored points on 27 (23 TDs, 4 FGs) of its last 37 possessions.

- With 48 career starts, senior QB Jayden Daniels ranks No. 3 among active FBS quarterbacks in games started. He trails only Bo Nix (Oregon) with 52 and Sam Hartman (Notre Dame) with 51. Daniels has started 19 straight games at LSU (13-6) after starting 29 at Arizona State from 2019-21.

- All 5 starters on LSU’s offensive line have at least 15 career starts to their credit with C Charles Turner leading the way with 19. He’s followed by LT Will Campbell (18), RG Miles Frazier (18), RT Emery Jones Jr. (17) and LG Garrett Dellinger (15). The group has combined for 87 career starts.

- Brian Thomas and Malik Nabers stand as the top receiving duo in the SEC as they have combined for 73 catches for 1,162 yards and 13 TDs. The duo is combining to average 14.6 receptions for 232.0 yards and 2.6 TDs per game.

By the numbers:

2: Consecutive games WR tandem Nabers-Thomas have both gone over 100 receiving yards

13: Combined TD receptions for Brian Thomas and Malik Nabers, the most of any duo nationally

And said nothing about the defense being last in the nation. What a disgrace for an LSU football team.
