I think he learned from that that you have to stay somewhere and build something. I think that's what he's doing now.

After the Georgia game, Lane was pissed. He made the comment about the talent gap between the teams

No shite? He’s just figuring that out?

’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The AD’s that have passed up on Kiffin the last few years are morons. Of course he’s a great mind but he’s now attracting talent at a high level.

There is definitely a new crop of coaches that have the overall tool set to work within the new NCAA NIL/portal era.

You either have one or you better start looking fast.

Next season is setup where we have a damn good shot at making the CFP and winning at least the first round - and Lane knows it.

With the 12 team playoff the SEC CG honestly only hurts a team

The SEC championship is going to look like a bowl game with all the opt outs.

Kiffin talked a lot of shite about payrolls and how bad it was for the game… all while planning to dump a bunch of cash in the portal…

Do you think when the 3 point line came about there was a bunch of coaches that refused to shoot 3 pointers because they thought it was a dumb rule?

No, they learned how to best use it. Lane is no different.

Ahh. But the point of my post was the talk…
Pointing fingers at others and speaking as if they were doing something wrong.

Duplicity definition:

Duplicity comes from a Latin word meaning "double" or "twofold," and its original meaning in English has to do with a kind of deception in which you intentionally hide your true feelings or intentions behind false words or actions.

the only things i have seen him say i took as "woe is me we can't compete at our little old school" and was a direct shot at getting more NIL $...or a way of him excusing a bad season bc we can't compete with schools that offer large amounts. He wins either way.

Conference Championships are cool for the fans and players, but with the 12 team playoff the team that just narrowly misses the CCG may end up better off than the loser of that game.

Freshmen are free to transfer and are,
in most cases, a developmental gamble.
The most valuable recruits are the ones that have burned their one time free transfer, and have shown they can compete. High School recruiting isn’t
the the best way to build a team now.

For a team like Ole Miss in a small state that needs to recruit regionally if not nationally to be a CFP contender, I would agree. This is not a knock on Ole Miss, yall are doing a damn good job with the hand you were dealt.

I do not agree this is the path for the traditional dozen or so power teams of the last twenty years. They will remain elite by using the portal sparingly if they continue to finish in the Top 10 in recruiting and retain 80& of their core recruiting classes. The team with the #1 recruiting class has been in the CFP every year for as along its been in place. NIL and the portal wont change that.
