Absolutely. The problem with not setting a local airport though is it’s not always easy or worth it to then add a flight to your trip, most of the time really.

For example I got a $400 fare from my airport through Atl to Dublin. But the Atl to Dublin fare was a similar amount, if I then add a $200 or more round trip from my home base to Atl it’s not cheao anymore.

Certainly worth doing both the hub and your local airport most likely. My only issue is I have 3-4 if not more hubs I’d fly through.

But yes, if you live in a major Euro hub it’s crazy how cheap you can routinely find deals.
