I guess where I was going with that is that I don't see why she should be punished for not doing anything illegal. It's not in the US Soccer Federations rules (that I know of), and not against the law.
There are players that sway back and fourth, and move around all the time. If this wasn't part of a movement then no one would really be talking about it.
This comes down to if you believe in the movement to change policing tactics. I don't see how representing her country on the pitch, and making a small gesture towards what she believes is in the best interest of her fellow countrymen can't be done at the same time.

Conduct detrimental to the team......a coach's favorite suspension tactic and in every single bylaws for every single entity out there. Sounds like this needs to be applied.

That's the crux of the entire problem, isn't it? Folks choosing to "voice" their distaste during one of our nation's symbols? It's an atrocious gesture.
Players are kneeling to demonstrate their distaste for their perceived inequalities and oppression "perpetuated" by the United States. Kneeling during the anthem. It's a big middle finger to the anthem, ergo our country.
Dude, disagree with whatever people, groups, organizations, and factions of Americans you want. You disagree with the police and their tactics? Cool. That's your prerogative. Our country and it's laws/freedom grant you that ability. You want to effect change on the homefront, go for it. Volunteer. Donate. Get out and be proactive. But you start to shite on our country and its symbols, forget it. It will only cause a divide.
I don't always love the way our country operates and I sure as hell don't always love the way our citizens act, but I'll always support the red, white, and blue.
