Yea our record against top 100 RPI is pretty impressive. But the 3 120+ losses are killer. We have the good of a Top 5 NCAA seed and the bad of a top 5 NIT seed.
Certainly those losses aren't great. However, I think the committee would be willing to look at those as anomalies if LSU can keep winning the rest of the way. 2 of the 3 losses were on the road, and none were by double-digits. Glass half full translation: Even at their worst LSU is still a tough team to beat.
The real killer for LSU is not the three "bad" SEC losses, but the bad SOS. LSU has the second worst SOS in the SEC and the 3rd worst non-conf SOS (192 overall). We knew that would be a problem from the beginning of the season, and shame on Jones and Co. for not scheduling better. The committee has been pretty clear that they don't look favorably upon teams that "hide" in the OOC part of the schedule. LSU did compared to the rest of the SEC. That's why the margin of error in conference play is so slim. There's nothing LSU can do about that now though. Just have to start stacking up "good" wins. A&M, Ole Miss and Ark. are the last opportunities to do so.
