8 years after the Joker, that doesn't make much sense but I'll have to wait and see why Nolan did it.

I don't see how Bane really fits into the Criminal Leader type like the Joker, but Riddler fits into the scheme as a top notch criminal so I think their will be someone else on top.

I still have doubts.

Riddler is too similar to the Joker. Bane is going to be a 'brutal' terrorist with genius tactics from what I've gathered

Does Nolan really care about the story behind the comics anymore? Riddler and Joker aren't very similar but they can be compared, but as I said earlier, I'll wait and see how it looks on the day it is released.

In the comics, Riddler is a mere nuissance to Batman. His plans aren't overly threatening and merely wants to be known as the most intelligent man in Gotham. Joker does Riddler's tricks on a much larger and more threatening scale. In order to make the Riddler a main antagonist, you'd have to make his tactics similar to the Joker. Therefore he should be a cameo tops like Scarecrow was in TDK.
