It could very well be true. Not even a pep band. I know a couple of Oregon alums (went to a couple of games in California with them) and no Oregon band was at the game. They told me that their band must raise the money to make trips. When I told them about my time in Tiger Band they were impressed with the fact that we traveled to games and got a per diem on those trips to cover costs of meals.
