I would hope that more LSU fans do this...
SMU will be a fun game just because its game 1 and the tailgates will be a blast as always. If you want a place to hit up come by Spence Park on the south side of the bridge for some pulled pork sandwiches and beer a couple hours before the game.

Feel free to stop by ours as well. Shiner Bock Aggie tailgates with me and we have a large spread. Southeast side of Reed Arena right behind the softball field.
Plenty of alcohol of all types (including the famous vodka bucket and pesticide punch), music, beer pong, and plenty of fried shite.
As far as the bars afterwards, the Chicken and Fitz's are good and old school, but I prefer the rooftop bar at the Corner Bar (corner of College Main and University). If you like live Music, Schotzi's, Zapatos, Fitzwillys are good. Logan's is a good sports bar with 44 oz. beers.
And please, go have a "Leatherneck" or "Two Hicks and a Spic chasing a Wild Turkey Down a Goldmine" at the Dry Bean Shot Saloon next to the Chicken.
