Funny you should mention that, there are multiple class action lawsuits against apple going on right now over this very thing after a third party company released a report accusing apple of this.

Now to be fair, I understand law suits can always be filed and sometimes it's just in hopes of getting a settlement from a massive company, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out because several whistleblowers over the years have accused apple of lying about their privacy and security
