Hate to say it but Chad boy is right. With it being an option bonus now the team isn't on the hook for the bonus until a week before the league season starts. If they trade him before that the new team has to foot that bonus. Underhill put out a good video about the contract language on YouTube.

What is the difference in this and salary, cap-wise?
If we trade him with base salary, it's the same impact on our cap. The new team eats it.
If we didn't restructure and then did not trade him,.we could restructure the salary as a bonus.
