In my limited travels to Cali, both LA and San Fran areas, I also found most people were very nice, they were over COVID restrictions and in general good people. What stood out to me was there were hardly any churches in the areas I visited. In the south, you can find a church on almost every other street.

100%. We have like 3 churches within every square mile. The only churches I think I saw there was a catholic cathedral in the city and another Protestant one. There were people preaching on the corner and handing out fliers.
