That happened to me on my 2017 Hobie PA12. On the PA12, there is a cleat/keeper on the inside of the hull that is part of the
molded plastic hull. The chord that connects the cheek block to the inside front of the kayak had somehow slipped off of the molded plastic keeper.

I don't know enough about this stuff to give a more concise answer, but the folks on the Hobie Forum board were very helpful and pointed me in the right direction.

do you like your PA12? I was in the Backpacker the other day and the new Outbacks look really sweet. Always wanted a PA too. They have certainly gone up in price since I bought mine!
