And your boy, Kelly, lost his OC to the NFL and revealed a Matt House-like defense in the spring game. He hasn't gotten close to performing like his predecessors.

So what would you call Kelly's 1st 46 games in the FBS?

19-16 in the MAC and then 8-3 in the Big East

27-19 overall in even more pathetic conferences and no Championship game.

You really want to play this game?

That is a 80.4% winning percentage.

For comparison, here are some others all time winning percentagea.

Nick Saban: 80.2%
Kirby Smart: 85.4%
Bear Bryant: 76%
Bobby Bowden: 73.9%
Les Miles: 59.6%
Brian Kelly: 72.9%
Knute Rockne: 86%
Tom Osbourne: 83.1%

An 80% winning percentage puts a coach into some very exclusive company.

Want to compare double digit winning seasons at the FBS level for Kelly vs DeBust? Kelly has done it 2-2 in the SEC. Will DeBust?

I mean, we can? DeBoer has done it 2 of 3 years that he had double digit games played. The 3rd in which he didn't he won 9 games.

And Vegas thinks he won’t do it next year.

Are you under the impression Vegas only thinks there will be 5 teams that win more than 9 games next year (the only teams with O/U wins more than 10)?

Nope but you can get better odds for under the 9.5 than the over. Only one season since Saban left and your odds to win the championship, conference, etc are all lower. Yikes!

It’ll be beautiful watching the slow decline

I don't put too much into charts like these, Georgia, Texas, Bama and some other programs have 5 stars that didn't start last year that will probably be even better with the year of development. Jhontay Cook, Anthony Hill come to mind.

Neither are his subpar 2021-2023 assistant coaching staffs. I’ve been saying that Alabama downgraded at head coach but upgraded the assistants.

I would argue that we barely know anything about the 2024 Alabama assistants, many are relative unknowns in SEC circles.

They may end up being great but I don't know how we can just assume that they're automatically upgrades.

If you told Bama fans a year ago who their HC, OC and DC would be a year from then they would stroke out

He had 10 players drafted in the NFL. Can you remind me how many Kelly had drafted in 2024?

How many of those players did he recruit from high school?

Doesn’t matter. He has an eye for talent whether it’s in HS or the transfer portal.

Kelly, meanwhile, is stuck in a Dabo-like mindset.

Oh I forgot Kelly just had a Heisman transfer that beat out DeBusts while playing in a much tougher conference

But the narrative around here was that Nick Saban was old and washed up

No it wasn't...the problem is that he couldn't handle the NIL landscape.

It's the same reason he ended up failing in the NFL.

Saban works of fear with young players that if you stay here at Bama, I will make you a lot of money in the NFL.

Once NIL bridged that gap, the respect factor to stay and get NFL money got removed and replaced with short term gratification of getting paid now elsewhere.

Anybody would want to place third runner up in the Western Div of a conference vs play for the NC
