Looking at the 12 -team CFP thread made me wonder about returning production for 2024.

Missouri has a ton of returning production talent for 2024 @ 71% which is not good news for their opponents.

Kentucky leads with 72%

Then it's -

Ole Miss - 70%
Florida - 68%
Georgia - 68%
Texas - 67%
A&M - 67%
Auburn - 66%
South Carolina - 65%
Oklahoma - 65%
LSU - 64%
Vanderbilt - 64%
Arkansas - 61%
Alabama - 53%
Tennessee - 48%
Mississippi State - 45%

Others of Note:

Oklahoma State - 85%
Oregon - 69%
Clemson - 68%
Arizona - 68%
Penn State - 67%
Ohio State - 65%
Florida State - 56%
Notre Dame - 53%
Washington - 40%
Michigan - 36%

54% seems about average for Bama each and every year. I doubt, under Saban, we’ve ever been close to 70%

Your problem is Saban isn’t on the sidelines anymore though

We were much lower last year (40%).

This is mostly the offense. The defense has been rebuilt in the portal.

Portal is included in this.

But the narrative around here was that Nick Saban was old and washed up. Now we have a young coach with a fire in his belly that has won spectacularly everywhere he has been. This is going to be a disappointing college football season for you.

This is probably not a bad thing when you consider the "production".

Neither are his subpar 2021-2023 assistant coaching staffs. I’ve been saying that Alabama downgraded at head coach but upgraded the assistants.

What does that mean for 2024? Nobody really knows but I suspect that Alabama is going to be better than expected. Losing Bond and Downs hurt them a bit but this is still a blue chip laden roster with a decent mix of starters and non-starter contributors from 2023 returning.

Excited to see what this leads to for Mizzou.

What has he won at the FBS level?

You hired two coordinators with zero SEC coaching experience. Do you even know the name of your offensive coordinator? Because the Seahawks stole your good one

2011 and 2012 might have been the closest we ever got to that and was more like 60-65 probably.

A playoff game? The Sugar Bowl? The PAC 12? Beaten Oregon 3x in a row? Won 25 of 28 games at his P5 job? Two P5 seasons, Two Top 10 finishes?

You can say his resume is light in the britches at the highest level given short amount of time, but he's won a bigger game(s) than most of the coaches in this conference. In 2 seasons.

Deboer’s biggest achievement is finishing runner up in the national championship game. The same as another coach you may be familiar with.

Don't they lose a lot off of the lines of scrimmage?

He’s 37-9 all time. That’s good, not great. Especially coaching in pathetic conferences

Wait, do COVID seasons count again?

He took over a 4-8 Fresno team and went 3-3 and then 9-3.

He took over a 4-8 Washington team and went 11-2 and then 14-1.

You sound silly.
