From one of Chavis' Bios: Over Chavis’ six years at LSU, the Tigers and Alabama were the only two SEC programs to rank in the league’s top four in scoring defense every year from 2009-14. LSU finished in the top 12 nationally in scoring defense five of six years under Chavis, highlighted by No. 2...

So the question is would A&M pay more than 1.3 for something that is arguably worth 1.7 or more. My guess is everyday and twice on Sunday. ...

LSU-You do indeed have the highest paid coaching staff which is a testament to your desire to maintain a great program. The 1.3 for Chief was agreed upon by both parties in 2012. Attempting to lock Chief in at the 2012 rate for 3 more years through 2017-well that is (risky). The market is different....
Just saying the devil is in the details....
Kirby Smart has a buyout of under $100,000. LSU wants Chief's buyout set a 1 million dollars (really?) Also the offer restricts taking a head coaching job or a pro job which most contracts allow. Additionally, the three years is not guaranteed. The terms are not on par with his peers which in a fr...

re: Muschamp to AU deal being worked out

The SEC West is a much more difficult arena than the SEC East. It is more difficult than when Muschamp coached in the SWC West before, and much harder than the Texas gig. He should do well, but the SEC West is the ultimate test of skills....
Michigan is well known for promoting diversification and takes steps to achieve it. So, I don't really see your point. Chavis and Cam are under contract with LSU for 2015.... The Lumbee/Cherokee Chief! I just can't see him at UM. LSU is still far away from Dillon, SC, but it ain't...
You are 100% correct CountryVolFan. I know for a fact Chavis is not retiring for at least 7 years (so recruits do not worry). And by the way, he recruits very hard and very well and has never said he does not want to be a head coach. He said he did not want to be in a program not committed to win...

I am appalled that you judge people based on their race which is no reflection whatsoever on their character or skill. In case you have not noticed, most of your team members are minorities. Perhaps you should ask Eric Berry, Al Wilson, Pat Peterson, Eric Reid, or countless others about Coach Chav...
