Jerry Palm of CBS Sports took a crack at what the future 12-team College Football Playoff field would look like ahead of week 8.

Palm has just two teams from the SEC in his projection, with Georgia getting a first-round bye as the No. 1 overall seed and Alabama as an 11-seed playing 6-seed Ohio State.

(9) Penn State at (8) Oklahoma
Winner advances to play (1) Georgia*

(12) Air Force* at (5) Oregon*
Winner advances to play (4) Texas*

(11) Alabama at (6) Ohio State
Winner advances to play (3) Florida State*

(10) North Carolina at (7) Washington
Winner advances to play 2 Michigan*

* Projected conference champion

Yeah North Carolina huh? This is exactly why I hate UT and OU coming to the Sec. We’re going to have too many good programs in one conference and the best teams are going to have multiple losses and nobody’s going to get in the playoffs because the playoff committee has morons like you!!!

What is his justification for #4 seed Texas and #8 seed Oklahoma?

If he’s “projecting how the season will play out” and assuming Texas would win a rematch, then how does he justify leaving Penn state with 2 projected losses?

Respect to Air force. Would be great for the Armed Forces but not happening.

Air Force, this is not realistic

Air Force currently stands to be the highest ranked non-P5 conference champ. If you look it up, that gets you a spot in the playoff.

I'll take Bama all the way against Ohio St and FSU.
