I'd like to see one per season. They look damn good.

And black is actually part of our color scheme unlike a bunch of other schools that seem to have just added it to their color combination.

did we do what? Obviously our 2 colors are red and black, but silver has been an extremely prominent part of our getup forever. I think what the other poster was referring to was teams like tennessee, florida, MSU, etc who just wear black for seemingly no reason.

I get that, but is that how the silver thing started?

Silver Britches were an innovation of Coach Wally Butts, who took over as head coach in 1939. The handsome pants, complimented by a bright red jersey, made for a striking uniform. Through the years, fans referred to the Bulldogs' silver britches in their chants and on banners, but the phrase really caught on in the early fifties with a cheer, banners, and colorful vests that proclaimed "Go, You Silver Britches." Coach Vince Dooley re-designed the uniform when he came in 1964 and used white pants; however, he re-instituted the silver britches in 1980 just prior to what turned out to be Georgia's national championship season.
If you're asking why did the silver get started, I don't...I guess because it's a great compliment to red jerseys and helmets. I mean with 2 main colors, at some point you're eventually going to have to wear something other than those 2 to fill out a uniform.

I don't like the stripes on the sleeves, but the RED PANTS are GLORIOUS.
