I think Kirby would have to handcuff Bowers and McConkey to some weight machines in the gym to keep them from playing. I think I read that Ratledge was sore but could have played but we got lots of depth on the OLine. Not sure about Thomas.

I'm just praying we get Bowers and McC back. Having both of them on the field at the same time is a game changer. I got a feeling KS is gonna make us sweat and be vague about it all week, just to keep Bama's D Coor sweating.

I haven't heard anything knew on Dumas. Maybe someone else has something on him, but he'd be the icing on the cake.

Maybe it's nothing, but it was concerning to see McConkey in street clothes last night.

Id assume Brock ladd and ratledge will be back in some capacity. Rara sounded like his was pretty bad as recently as a few days ago so wouldnt count on him til playoffs. I would doubt jdj but I don't really know.

I saw bamas #1 RB McClellan was on crutches after their game

Yeah, they confirmed it was a leg injury of some sort. Was on crutches with a plastic cast/boot. That'd be a blow to them.

Meanwhile, Milton looks like he's healthier than he's been since he arrived on campus. Just in time....

What about Julian Humphrey

I have no clue.

But photos show no brace or support for Humphrey.

That's a good sign. But not definitive of anything.

IMO Kirby is using Ladd as a hired gun this season

Only use him when we are playing teams when the season is on the line

I think he plays next week and Kirby had no intention of playing him against GT

This is possibly his last game at GA, he will play

So, the SEC CG matters, but the playoffs wouldn't?

Whats scary is, 4, 6, 86, and 1 could be the best all around group we have put on the field in any other year. Add 19, 5 and 84 to it and ….

If we lose the SECG there is no playoff game for us.

So, this game has to be treated as a one or done

If we win, he can rest for 4 weeks

Bowers was on the sideline in full pads. He left the field at the end of the game wearing his helmet.

Bowers is going to play next week.

I don't know if any of you subscribe to John DeLoach. His emails are free (sends a word document with updates attached in his emails) and it was given out here a while ago. Some people said he was an "insider" but you know how that goes.
These are quotes from Kirby he sent out on his last one:

quote:

“Brock was probably the closest of being ready to go of those guys, but it just didn’t feel as good as it has. He was a little sore. We wanted to see what he could do if he felt comfortable with it, but just didn’t think that he could go,” Smart said. “It was nothing about who we were playing or anything else. He’s got to be able to go compete at a high level and feel good about what he’s doing. We didn’t feel that he had that.”

quote:

Like Bowers, Ratledge also dressed out and went through pregame warmups before the decision was made to list him as inactive for the game.
“He maybe could have played; he was not 100 percent, and we’re hoping to get him back,”

quote:

“As far as the other guys go, it’s going to be day-to-day. We just don’t know anything. We certainly don’t know anything today.”
Smart said McConkey, who dealt with a back injury earlier this year before rolling his ankle against Ole Miss, continues to do everything he can to be able to play.
“He gets frustrated with it but a lot of it is beyond his control. He’s done everything he can from the rehab standpoint to get back, and fulfill his role as a leader,” Smart said. “He’s a high-energy guy on the sideline and supporter of the other guys, which is all you can ask him to do. He was right there last night, pulling for and supporting everybody.”

A lot of "maybe/could have/would have" coach speak but sounds like Bowers and Ratledge will be a go for the SECCG. Not sure about McConkey.

This is his link if any of you want to sign up. He sends an email 'bout once a week sometimes more depending on what is going on. I've been signed up for a couple of years and have not gotten junk/spam from him at any time btw.
John DeLoach

EDIT: one more Kirby injury report quote about Ladd and Rara:
quote:

“Ladd's still recovering. Trying to get him back,” Smart said. “He hasn't been able to do much. We'll find out more [Wednesday] or the next day.”
Thomas has developed into a true deep threat for the Bulldogs, but a bone bruise has slowed him down. Smart said after the Week 12 victory over Tennessee that Thomas’ foot was bothering him during pre-game warm-ups but that it was not an ankle sprain and that X-rays were negative.

While we are talking about If's, what if Texas and FSU lose?

And us lose as well? In that case, assumign the rest holds chalk you'd have:

13-0 PAC champ washington
13-0 Big champ Michigan
12-1 SEC champ bama

12-1 non champ uga
11-1 non champ osu

Texas, Ok St, and FSU would have no chance

In this scenario, which obviously requires A LOT to happen, I imagin we would make the 4th spot by default since there isn't anyone else with a halfway good argument to go above us. But, that's a lot of "ifs".

My point was that he said there is no playoff “if” we lose. I’m simply saying there would be a chance. Louisville beating FSU is not a long shot btw and Texas isn’t that great of a team.

Obviously we need to win and I believe we will

Hate that these conversations go away next year. So fricking lame.

oh, well yeah there's definitely a chance. But it would require a lot to happen.

People are naturally going to continue bringing up 2021 while ignoring that hte only other team we were competing against that year for the final spot had the same amoutn of losses, 1 less win, a lesser overall resume, and ALSO did not win a conference. That would definitely not be the same case this year.

Basically two out of these 3 have to lose their conference championship game in any combination for us to get into the CFP with a loss imo. The Pac 12 already is in regardless I'm thinking...

• Michigan (vs. Iowa)

• Texas (vs. Oklahoma State)

• Florida State (vs. Louisville)

Let's say that all 3 of those happen. We woudl be looking at:

PAC12 champ is in

12-1 Alabama, SEC champ
12-1 Michigan, non champ
12-1 UGA, non champ
12-1 Washington, non champ (if Washington wins the PAC oregon is a non factor with 2 losses)
12-1 FSU, non champ
11-1 Ohio State, non champ

11-2 Iowa, 11-2 Louisville, and 11-2 Ok State would all be conference champs but likely irrelevant to the discussion.

You've gotta think looking at that top group that bama is a stone cold lock, so you've got 2 spots between five 1-loss non champs. In that scenario I would really like our chances, but man that's a lot going on.
