I agree with the offense against Clemson.

Don't change for them. Just do what we do best. And do it efficiently.

Defensively, we're not a great defense. We rely on big plays. Instead of sitting back and waiting for big plays, we need to be creating them. Give Boyd a Wunderlic test and blitz him from all angles. He will win some battles. But if we win the turnover battle, we win the game.

Offense

-Control the TOP, try to wear their D out and keep ours fresh.

-Balance Gurley and Marshall's carries for the first half. Then pound them with straight Gurley for the second half.

-Short, quick, safe passes to get Murray in good confidence.

- Attempt a HR ball every quarter

Defense

-Stop the run first and foremost.

-Start the game double covering Watkins if possible. Don't want him and Boyd to get in rhythm.

-Put Boyd on on his arse multiple times. Rules be damned.

Clemson has some good DL returning.

They return about as many tackles for a loss on the DL as we return on our entire team.

That doesn't mean that they will dominate us.
But with a 1st game of the season on the road, I wouldn't be surprised if we have some rust showing early on.

Shock and AWE on defense! Please! Everybody is expecting our defense to be porous as a screen door, but I hope we come out and force Clitson into a big goose egg. I'd be perfectly content with a 14-0 UGA WIN if our defense just represented.

Stats are misleading. Statistically, Nebraska was the best pass defense in the country last year and Murray threw for 427 and 5 tds. FSU scored basically at will last year and I would imagine our offense is better than theirs.

I think we win this one handily.

Anyone remember what the Eagles did to Vick in the 2004 NFCCG? They forced him to run right because he was a lefty QB. I would like to see the same thing with Boyd. Force him to his left if we can to see if he can make those awkward throws. Their run game doesn't scare me because it is unproven.

On offense, establish the run and when they get a little gassed, hit them with the hurry up. Murray runs the hurry up really well and if it is used at the right times, Clemson will have no answer

Dawgs have to play ball/clock control early to win this one. Wear the Clempson D down for late in the 3rd and the 4th. That'll open things up for late in the game in case plan A isn't as successful as planned. Take the crowd out with 3 yds and a cloud of dust.

I would start by not using 90's text message abbreviations. They make people look stupid.

stats like pass defense are misleading (because Nebraska was 90th in run defense. teams didn't bother throwing because they knew they could run).

Tackles for a loss isn't the same type of stat as that. It's an impact play stat. And you can't fake it.

They played lesser competition and return some very good DL. It's why the number is there.
Clemson should feel fairly good about the DL coming into the game, though. That doesn't say much about their LBs or DBs, however.
