Imagine the spot he put Coach Cavan in? He is out there trying to get large donations so we can "get to the next level" whilst at the same time, Adams is taking $35m (at least) direct from the AD for the general fund. At least let us donate to that and get a better write off... fricking assholes...

You don't think UGA's house in coasta Rica "takes us to the next level" and helps recruiting??

It's absurd we have that much money in the bank, yet our AD makes excuses as to why we can't upgrade much needed facilities. The following are two that I've been waiting to see come to fruition:

1. Game day experience: concession stands are awful and the bathrooms are horrid. I'd rather take a shite outside.

2. Basketball scoreboard: why the frick doesn't the Stege have a suspended scoreboard? It's commonplace in big time basketball

If we made those basic changes, less another fund raising campaign, we'd still be one of the richest AD in the nation.

IDK, most people have no idea how government budgets work, and I imagine it's no different for Seth Emerson. Hard to know without looking at the numbers.

Think about this... some donations to the UGA AD are 501C3 which are 100% write off. Hartman fund, though, is not. It's is 80%. I'm sure something is in the woodpile here, but as far as aim concerned, Adams stole 20% write offs from UGAAA donors. I know, Hartman is for tickets... but still...

I'll say this much, USC is putting MAJOR money into upgrading all of their facilities. Bama and TAMU are constantly upgrading their facilities

UF is also doing a huge facility upgrade for FB and lets not forget that UT and Auburn have spent MILLIONS on their stadiums and residence halls for athletes.I believe Auburn's tab was around $50 million for their new housing facility.

Once we can't defend not doing anything any longer, we'll build some "me-to" half measure. Heaven forbid we do something innovative.

Please, its more than any other SEC AD by a wide margin(maybe Bama has more but I doubt it)I remember Jay Jacobs
bragging about his $10 million reserve fund 3 years ago.

Many SEC AD's spend every single penny of revenue generated.

Jesus tap dancing Christ. All kirby has done is awaken the sleeping dwarves we thought we'd awoken some giant but, nope, just Dopey, Grumpy, and Bashful wondering who the frick had the gall to leave the fridge open and who spent a buck fifty on a bottle of coke

As long as sec revenue is spread out communistically without regard to what schools are driving that revenue, it is important to maintain a large reserve fund because someday the shite will hit the fan and Id rather be one of the last men standing.

Baseball isnt a revenue sport, frick it.

Basketball could be, but isn't. A new coliseum won't change that.

Football stadium improvements are justified.

Well, yeah. Dragon attacks are usually pretty destructive.

Exactly the way it should be. That's what killed the Big 12, the money wasn't shared equally and Texas was getting the lion's share and the Big 12 just went south. Try that in the SEC and it too would go south.

That story is still being written. In 20 years we may very well be looking back at what a genius move it was for Texas to just be Texas.

In 20 years, that may be the new model. In 20 years, it will be the new cool thing for schools to go rogue.

Media is changing, the way fans consume media is changing. The analytics in media are changing.

The future normal could very well be standalone programs.

Or, maybe not.

But having 77 million in the bank is a good place to be.

Paycheck to paycheck is bad.

Wealth isn't defined by what you spend. It's defined by what you don't spend.

Write that down.

Rig, you're preaching to people who get their financial cues from Georgia beat writers. Good luck with that.

It's all going on-line. Cable is dead. espn is deader than dead.

Congratulate mike slive on the obscene payday he negotiated for the conference, but don't call him a pioneer.

He basically cashed in on trading beta-max rights to a VHS company right before blue rays hit.

Long story short: If something had ever happened to stall the SEC network deal by 3 years or so, miZzzouri would still be in the MacWest and we'd be able to order games a la carte off the SECweb at 99cents a piece.
