Richt says he thinks Georgia will know by Friday a decision on the status of suspended RB Todd Gurley. Will play Saturday if eligible.

The pessimist in me says that this is starting to feel like the AJ Green investigation all over again. The NCAA waited until the day before the South Carolina game to hammer Green with a 4 game suspension, all after anonymous sources had many convinced that Green would be cleared.

92.9 is saying the same thing, NCAA will inform UGA about Gurley before the bus leaves.

Hopefully the NCAA makes the right decision

Times are changed since the AJ ruling. If anything this should be far less.

The optimist side of me says lawyers are lawyering with all the factors involved. In the end, it will be UGA submitting a report and making the call on what they think should happen. Assuming lawyers have shut up Allen and other dealers, UGA will submit based on some $ amount Gurley told them and the NCAA will accept not wanting to open the can.

This is fricking HUGE. Means that UGA asked for time served if Richt suspects that there culd be a chance Gurley plays Saturday.

I bet the NCAA lawyers are huddling up as much as the UGA lawyers. These kinda issues have blown up in their face on a regular basis in the last coupla years. Imma betting the NCAA is more worried about not fricking up again than they are about the "amateur status" of one Todd Gurley...

I bet the hogs in Arkansas are as nervous as sheep in Alabama waiting to hear the source of their upcoming pain.

#UGA has come back and clarified Richt's post-practice statement. Says now he has no reason to think final decision will be in by Friday.

This! And if the only real evidence is Gurley's word, let's hope the NCAA allows it and we get the man back Saturday

LMAO, that's what I expected to hear.

So either he travels "just in case" or he doesn't travel and we just hold out hope that he is cleared and UGA busts arse to get him on a second flight.

Well, at least we can be pretty sure that UGA at the least recommended only a one game suspension due to the original CMR statement today instead of just bending over & telling the NCAA to frick me in the arse, as we did in the A.J. Green fiasco...

I knew chip back when he worked for the R and B. He is a UGA guy. He may almost try a tad too hard not to appear as such. He is a good dude.

I mean I don't know him obviously he just comes off negative sometimes to the UGA cause. As you mentioned he probably is bound to show his neutrality by such comments against UGA.

I don't doubt it and I've gotten the impression that he really does love UGA as well. But I also don't doubt that he is encouraged to play up these "incidents" by his editors in order to garner more page hits.
